Because even if youre legal, if you look like a foreigner you can be confronted, intimidated, threatened or arrested. Invert the question. If youre an illegal how are you going to vote and why would you do it in person?
-
Absolutely! Anyone on that list deserves to be punished to full extent. Any party, any level. Let do it.
-
See there's the issue. He doesnt. He cannot fire someone at the Fed without cause. And there has not been any charges filed against her - its just a personal vendetta. Hence the follow up lawsuit. And this ignores the point which is that you are not supporting policy decisions you are blindly supporting Trump decisions. Thats a cult.
-
None of this is relevant to the point being made. And most of it is wrong. Hes President, not King.
-
You're the one who supported firing the head of BLS without ever saying why. You're the one who supported but still cant explain how tariffs on the UK make sense despite us having a trade surplus with them. You're the one who is supporting the firing of a Fed member without any charges let alone guilt. Its not about policy at all, its about supporting Trump regardless of why.
-
Theres a very, very simple solution and answer to that. Release the files.
-
No, the difference is I can make.my own opinions and think for myself. While I despise Trump and think he's an incompetent moron and deeply flawed human being I can still support policies and concepts that he supports. You and Cubs however, support anything he says or does without question or independent thought. Thats a cult.
-
Well duh it came back up when he was re-elected!!! Having the sitting president as a possible child rapist carries more consequence than a former president.
-
Thats because youre in the cult. You dont but the rest of the country does. Across every political stripe and demographic group.
-
Umm because our sitting President, was best friends (as stated by Epstein himself) with a convicted child rapist and is now doing everything in his power to stop the release of the very files he promised many times to release. Including moving Maxwell to a minimum security prison. Shouldn't we know if our President is a child rapist? It seems only the deepest cult are supporting the continued burying of the files (which again, he promised to release).
-
So youre supportive of releasing the full Epstein files?
-
Does that apply to the sexual assault case too where he was found guilty by a jury and the award has been upheld many times?
-
The court did not slap down the guilty ruling. It confirmed that he was guilty. It only slapped down the penalty as excessive.
-
Accusations not charges. Its not like she was charged and then found guilty of being fraudulent on her financials or sexually assaulted someone like.....the President of the country.
-
Facts aren't your strong point. She hasn't denied charges because there haven't been any charges. She hasn't been charged with anything to deny. And yet you have already found her guilty. Why? Because of evidence and facts? Nope. Because Donald Trump was the one making the accusation. Thats it. Thats a cult.
-
The appellate court did not say that. They only reversed the penalty not the charges. Hes still guilty of fraud. So for you: Lisa Cook: not guilty. Not even charged with a crime. Your response: she's a fraud and deserves to be thrown out Donald Trump: guilty of fraud. Guilty of sexual assault. Made over $4bn personally from the presidency (according to WSJ) Your response: find me my knee pads. Cult.
-
The charges were not thrown out. The penalty was thrown out as excessive. He is still guilty. You need to stop getting your news from deep right-wing sites and Fox.
-
I'm not defending her. If she has committed a crime then she deserves what she gets. But she has not been charged with a crime. And as far as I know, America is still innocent until proven guilty. You are presuming her guilt.based on nothing more than Trump saying it. Thats a cult.
-
She hasn't been charged with a crime. You of course follow whatever Trump tells you to, so you claim guilt without there even being a charge. Thats cult behavior. Trump on the other hand was found guilty of mortgage fraud.

If you're a New Yorker who doesn't make a lot of money and are struggling to get by in the city a lot of those ideas are going to be appealing. I agree they're stupid but it's easy to appeal to people who feel they're being left behind and are willing to cling to someone who talks a good game of hope even if theyre an iincompetent moron. Same goes with Trump.

I think there is some degree of self diagnosed invincibility in people who have been incredibly successful in multiple fields that makes them feel they have an edge or ability in everything (or most things). True of Munger in your example and I saw it many, many times in VC with founders who had a couple of successful startups. Probably true of someone like Elon Musk too.

I agree with this wholly on a career level but disagree on a life level. I'd rather have 10 different hobbies and interests and past times that I'm mediocre or poor at than 1 that I'm dominant at but never try anything else.

What company is going to accept a "grant" ever again?
-
Not sure i got that entirely. In my finance mind "yield" means how much cash/earnigns your investment generates. There are no earnings here and I dont get how theyre able to keep buying more BTC. Where does the cash come from? Share sales? Debt? Why would anyone buy a share if it costs significantly more than the value of the btc it represents? If youre playing the premium to the underlying value of the BTC they own, it just looks like a levered bet. You're betting on the price of the BTC that underpins everything and then betting that the premium increases (or doesnt go down). "Yield" here seems like a poor terminology to suggest its adding value when its just BTC premium.

From the same report: "The volumes of fentanyl moving from Canada into the United States are negligible- based on US Customs and Border Patrol data since 2022 about one-tenth of one percent of fentanyl seizures are attributable to the Northern US border or crossing into the US from Canada. These volumes are far less than the flow of illegal narcotics into Canada from the US"
