Why has Amwins been able to double market share (at the expense of B&B) while everyone else seems pretty stable?
-
You're using logic to argue with ideology. Its a cult.
-
I didn't delete that. Its still there. And you claimed I said Ed Koch was a radical. I dont see that in the post at all!! So now you claimed i said something that I didnt, that I deleted a post, I didnt and because you cant find something I never said that I'M dishonorable??????
-
Ah @Gregmal, yes weighing in again on a conversation you arent part of. Despite of course not having time for any of this stuff
-
I like that he thinks I said it but unfortunately my knowledge.of the depths of Ed Koch are limited. Wasn't me. Period. Might have been Parsad. But if you quoted me multiple times @whiskybravo, surely you can privide the post? Or.is this another false assumption you once again cant prove despite.claiming?
-
Find it then. Another problem with assumptions.
-
First I never said Ed Koch was a radical, that was someone else. More importantly, your logic is flawed. We cannot simply say a reasonable person is comfortable that a majority of Italians voted for Trump. That is exactly the flaw of assumptions and why we look for data. Just because something is plausible or even likely does not make it a fact.
-
This is what we are talking about. You gave a survey from a year before the election. It wasnt even vs Harris. And then some voting data from a couple areas of NY that have Italian populations. That doesnt show that Italians voted for Trump by a large margin. Its anecdotal at best and wrong at worst. I certainly believe its plausible they voted for Trump. But if someone gave me a study showing the opposite I wouldnt be surprised either. Its exactly why I was hoping for real data and evidence. Because I cant find any and you didnt provide any. So to take it as fact is not correct.
-
Except now these "sources" that youre cultivating through all need to be vetted because at least with the NYT or Fox News you know the bias. Pulling info randomly from the internet is hardly a better source of truth. What that leads to is people questioning science and medicine because Becky on TikTok has some interesting ideas with lemon juice. Or at worst you believe info that isnt true. For example, the Italian voting. Its likely true. Theres anecdotes that support it. But is there accurate data? Not that I've seen. Which is why I asked for a source.
-
You're the one who inserted themselves into this discussion despite it being a "me" problem and you not having time to waste on it. If someone can point out their source it saves a hell of a lot of time. Not only does it legitimize the comment it makes them that much more trustworthy next time. And if there is no source or their source is questionable, I know I can probably throw out the conclusion as opinion right away without wasting my own time on research. And it makes me take anything else they say with a grain of salt.
-
And this is exactly why we should be asking for data and sources and evidence instead of just believing people who state opinions like they are fact.
-
This is exactly why I was calling out opinion vs facts. The minute we put ideology over science and facts we have agreed to be manipulated. Convincing people that scientists and doctors are corrupt but then following TV personalities and social media influencers as truth is failing as society.
-
Thats exactly why I was asking for source of data. I was hoping to see which way each nationality leaned. Or if nationality takes a back seat to other demographics (age, education, religion, etc).
-
Except theres overlap. You can have black Italians and unmarried Italian women. Everyone falls into a ton of categories. Thats why I wanted to see it by nationality.
-
Exactly! Which is why I wanted to see the data and see what direction other nationalities went.
-
Thats just....math. if Italians are heavily for Trump by like 12% or more that's a greater number than the total votes Trump won by.
-
Oh I didnt say that. He could be horrific. Or he could be a non issue. But either way NY will survive and he will be gone (sooner if horrific, later of non issue)
-
I was hoping not to assume anything. Thats what the numbers would imply though if the Italian vote was so disproportionately one directional.
-
Its literally in the post. According to Google.
-
Yes. And DiBlasio. Even Bloomberg could be considered far left leaning but he's a billionaire so its looked at differently. The point is it swings both ways over time - just like with presidents. Are there back to backs? Sure. Just like there are single termers. The point is the pendulum swings back and forth. Whether the next one is good or bad, New York will survive.and he will be gone.
-
Proof, evidence, whatever. Something factual underpinning it to differentiate from it being just an opinion. Why is it shocking to contest it? According to Google there are 17.9m Americans who identify as Italian. If they were so disproportionately for Trump that would account for the entire national voting differential. That didnt seem likely. Hence wanting to see how different groups voted. Not shocking at all.
-
That appears to be the exact opposite of what @Gregmal is saying
-
I didnt want proof. I wanted evidence that it was even possibly the case. And mostly because I wanted the info to see about other regions I was curious about. You are confident enough about it not to waste time on it but still felt it was worth the time to weigh in on it despite not being part of the original posts?
-
Not because of polls because they would have been talking to people who regionally think similarly and then incorrectly assuming that applies everywhere. You can invest however youd like! Go for it! Hope it works great. But youre basically saying for others reading this that any actual data and facts are secondary to observations and gut feeling.
-
By the same logic if youre a NYC area person you would have thought Harris would win the election by 20 points.
