  1. Ted or Todd most likely
  2. @treasurehunt big issue there has been GEICO - so not really comparing apples to apples imho
  3. MU was up BIG yesterday ...
  4. Has anyone looked at the JNJ-KVUE swap? It's an interesting one. You buy 99 shares of JNJ and swap it into KVUE at a meaningful discount. It's about a 17% return in 2 weeks time. If you buy 100 shares you want be guaranteed a full swap, and if you buy 99 shares and don't allocate the full 99 shares, then you will lose out as well. KVUE also has sold off and seems cheap to me given its business and moat. Hedge Funds cant do this (99 share issue) and most retail is unaware of the transaction.
  5. wow - no trim in Apple at all! ~$180B equity position! Approximately 78% of the aggregate fair value was concentrated in five companies (American Express Company – $26.4 billion; Apple Inc. – $177.6 billion; Bank of America Corporation – $29.6 billion; The Coca-Cola Company – $24.1 billion and Chevron Corporation – $19.4 billion).
  6. Did Warren trim $40B from Apple?? As of 6/30: the Apple stake was $119B
  7. Anyone have a transcript that I can read? I cant seem to find one
  8. Added to my position this AM
  9. From Everest RE's most recent quarter: “The property cat pricing remains strong, and the 2023 hard market has now surpassed the post-Hurricane Andrew [1992] market” "there’s simply been no meaningful capital formation to tip the supply demand imbalance"
  10. Mid-August historically. It will be an interesting quarter
  11. WRB is very well run ... investors have bid-up the stock to over 2x BV purely due to the companies frequent special dividends ... FFH is super cheap (7x earnings) with a lot of optionaility and float-leverage. MKL is a boring compounder.
  12. Looks like Berkshires merger-arb play is going to workout! Sizable profit for Berkshire Jewish Treasury Bonds as Munger called it!! LOL
  13. https://www.streetinsider.com/PRNewswire/Dominion+Energy+Announces+Sale+of+Remaining+Interest+in+Cove+Point/21892316.html $3.5B BHE investment ...
  14. Thank you @gfp -- FT article is blocked by a paywall!
  15. Source on Buffett selling puts on BNSF? First time I've heard that
  16. I bought it as well - frankly just to read the Combs essay
  17. Did anyone else catch when Todd mentioned he had a large position in Experian before he joined BRK? I had no idea this was even publicly traded. Looks like it is Dublin based with a US ADR: EXPGY. Also he was short Fannie and Freddie ... which Buffett sold out of it the early 2000s. I'm sure there has been interesting converstations about that!
  18. This has been a serious homerun for Berkshire.
  19. The more I read and study Alleghany - the more I realize this was an awesome acquisition inside of Berkshire. Were any questions about Y raised during the AGM? I cant seem to find any
  20. GEICO has 500 or 600 legacy IT infrastructure systems that dont talk to each other ... and that need to be ripped out and replaced. Ouch
  21. One thing being overlooked here is how strong Berkshire insurance leadership is. You have the following employed: Ajit, Joe Brandon (Alleghany), Todd Combs (GEICO), Kara Raiguel (GenRe - who Ajit has praised several times), Pete Eastwood (BH Specialty) ... just to name a few. Plus Warren of course! This is the best diversified insurance leadership the company has had in its history.
  22. Awesome interview!!! We are lucky to have these two guys at Berkshire. One of WEB's best moves over the last decade!!!
  23. I agree - terrible article
  24. https://www.wsj.com/articles/berkshire-hathaways-energy-idea-is-a-bad-fit-for-texas-c21655a3?mod=Searchresults_pos4&page=1
  25. Has the full interview been posted yet?
