Serving as a public official isn't easy. The scrutiny, demands, threats, reputational risk, legal risk, work hours, responsibilities...and for pay generally much less than the private sector! Yeah, you get a sweet ass pension and benefits, you build a massive network of affluent/influential people, and you may get rich later on through speaking engagements and books, but it is pretty much a thankless endeavor. No one is going to bang pots and pans at 7pm to celebrate you during a Pandemic like they were doing for first responders, doctors, nurses, etc. Most will tell you that you are a piece of shit and wish you were dead! So, if they get a few perks, even Trump, I'm ok with that. Open graft like shilling for NFT's, crypto, insider trading, money for access...yeah, all that stuff should be illegal. Cheers!

The riots in LA were minimal around a 3 block radius (not much different than Vancouver's hockey riot in 2011 or elsewhere in the U.S....Boston, Florida, etc.). Yet Trump calls in the National Guards which flames the fires...and then the Marines! The terminology he uses in his press conferences is inflammatory...not just typical political rhetoric, but revengeful, vindictive rhetoric! It's like a guy yelling fire in a theatre. Cheers!
