  1. though i think he said only 2% of his AUM is invested in this—- unless he has significantly increased it during the last few weeks/months. On the other hand, he is already a 10% holder, so there should be new filings if he bought more..
  2. i followed Dinar into COKE and made money. that was a very good pick.
  3. I doubled my Fannie mae positions post election also, oxy and cvx
  4. Yeah preferred are not reportable. For common, because it’s OTC, it’s only reportable when someone own more than x% (i think x =10, not sure)
  5. https://seekingalpha.com/news/4386431-bill-ackman-says-hes-short-iep-long-fnma-for-stock-picking-contest
  6. But how about inheritance tax sort of thing? If say someone has 20 millions of stocks at dealth, doesnt the heir have to pay a big inheritance tax? And why putting in an irrevocable trust can avoid that inheritance tax (is it because the tax is already paid as gift tax when money is transferred into the trust)? Thanks!
  7. SD, any good o/g stock picks for US investors ? thanks!
  8. My wife thinks this guy is from Europe, as it’s rare for local Americans buy hermes sneakers
  9. Brk fnmas etc oxy and OXY warrant lqda lmt bgc siri cash
  10. It started recently after this guy’s post: i read it I don’t think what he wrote make sense. Maybe this scared FNMA holders
  11. Yet Li Lu bought OXY.
  12. duan yong ping , who’s close to PDD founder, added to PDD while selling baba.
  13. My best investment in 2024 turned out to be the trump trade — fnma and fnmas, followed by a biotech (LQDA) and a company in bankruptcy (YELLQ) — almost covered my big lose in SAVE! Fortunately most of my assets are in Brk
  14. also this one, though i cant read the whole text: https://substack.com/app-link/post?publication_id=1278575&post_id=152078052&utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email&utm_content=share&utm_campaign=email-share&action=share&triggerShare=true&isFreemail=true&r=ag2rx&token=eyJ1c2VyX2lkIjoxNzU0NjI1MywicG9zdF9pZCI6MTUyMDc4MDUyLCJpYXQiOjE3MzI1MzkzNTQsImV4cCI6MTczNTEzMTM1NCwiaXNzIjoicHViLTEyNzg1NzUiLCJzdWIiOiJwb3N0LXJlYWN0aW9uIn0.VipuL92Q4TH4uFcIoGmOm_ubE9IbTTnSyolWWLJQleM
  15. It’s this one I found. I suspect it’s why the stock was up 6% yesterday http://mastersinvest.com/newblog/2024/10/15/learning-from-simpson-manufacturings-barclay-simpson#:~:text=Warren Buffett is known for,Manufacturing was a natural target.
  16. there’s a podcast somewhere in which SSD founder claimed Buffett wanted to buy SSD a few years ago and he refused
  17. yeah, it seems there’s not much a big hurdle anymore for this company to succeed, imo. 12/5 decision could be a positive catalyst but even if not it’s inevitable they will start selling in May.
  18. Fnmas and fmckj
  19. https://www.ft.com/content/1ef2a6ef-a623-484f-9879-8cb3c26f67fb Accolades rolled in, including from Larry Kudlow, Trump’s former National Economic Council director, who told the FT that Bessent was “absolutely first rate” and an “excellent choice”.
  20. Yeah, i only have fnmas and fmckj. i think the main difference is liquidity. Some people buy the less liquid ones which can be cheaper sometimes.
  21. i think FNMAS has the highest dividend rate, so potentially it could worth more under certain conditions of re-org.
  22. i have more preferred than commons, and added to the preferred recently. This was a lottery ticket before election but now the preferred is really a 50 cents on a dollar. I find it’s hard to believe that commons will be zero. If the govt want to re-ipos the shares, it will be hard to raise capital if they zeroed the commons? Also, all the common shareholders like Ackman can also buy preferred, thus will be able to vote on restructuring. But on the other hand, i am also not sure that the potential payoffs for commons will be a lot higher than preferred, cuz this is completely decided by the kindness of the secretary at time of restructuring. by the way, Buffett has 300bn cash. Can he buy the whole thing? That will be so cool !

  24. what do you think will happen if Lutnick is chosen to be the next US treasurer? It seems Scott Bessent is going to be more favorable to FNMA investors?
  25. i sold it at $12, now it’s cheaper. This thing can be a multi bagger when they finally start selling it
