It was so true. It took me a few months to come out from under that table. And it ended up being almost as good as 2009. But I do think @Blugolds is right. What are you talking about? The USA & Canada are as close as allies can get. But they are individual countries with slightly different needs.

@cwericb - Not to worry. The good old USA will always provide defense to Canada as we always have. There are some benefits to having a contiguous border with the world's strongest military. Call it "the free rider effect" - while we protect you, you don't have to fund it or worrry about it. While the USA spends $800B , continue with your military spending of 1/100th of that number. It must be nice to divert all those funds to your nonsense liberal government led by Trudeau.

Successful civilizations exist to protect the vulnerable - women, children and the elderly. This fundamental social contract is being violated in many western countries.

Assimilation into the host's culture is the key. When this does not happen and radicalism takes over - your immigration policy is a train wreck. Your radicals turn the country into the country they were fleeing. Europe is slowly waking up,,, the USA has woken up before it destroys our country.

This - destroying your culture by large scale immigration of young men that will not respect your culture is disastrous. You are ignoring your duty to your citizens with uncontrolled immigration. You are simply changing your country forever.

That will be a challenge. 75% of Canadian exports go to the USA.

Americans don't want to "stick it to Canada" - being our best ally. Trump wants to keep drugs and illegals out, and if getting rid of Justin accomplishes that - so be it. Tariffs are a powerful tool for foreign policy.

It was called the Greatest Generation for a reason. They saved, worked hard, bought everything with cash, did not use debt, focused on their work & families without distractions. Getting rich quickly was the furtherest thought in their minds. It just happened since they did not live beyond their means. They were frugal & focused - which resulted in economic freedom after many years. Anyone can replicate this behavior - and the results will likely be the same.

+1 - so true. I don't see a lot of work ethic and discipline out there these days, especially among the young. You young guys that do have it - will absolutely kick ass if you just focus and keep moving.

I think we have all been there before - where the market looks expensive and scary - and the future looks clouded with obvious macro traps. It's rarely clear sailing. But as a small investor @Blake Hampton - all you have to do is shift through opportunities and find a handful of good ones. Maybe 4/5/6 - and you can do incredibly well while others try and call the market.
