When he got to the hospital, a nurse asked him how he was. 'I’m dying,' he said. 'How are you?'" https://diocesela.org/the-bishops-blog/charlie-munger-memorial/ Someone once asked if he knew how to play the piano. “I don’t know,” he said. “I’ve never tried.” Another classic.
MCR Posted March 18, 2024 Posted March 18, 2024 Thanks @nwoodman. This heart warming nugget from the Bishop's blog: "Emilie also said he placed a call from his hospital bed to Warren Buffett, his friend since 1959 and longtime business partner."
DooDiligence Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 (edited) Halford still has a set of pipes! Looks kind of like he's sitting in a wheelchair here (but he's not). Too bad he doesn't mention Charlie in the lyrics. Edited May 18, 2024 by DooDiligence

Libs Posted June 2, 2025 Posted June 2, 2025 The son of a friend of mine just got into USC to major in psychology. I sent him this Munger classic. Of course it's familiar to us but not as familiar as it should be to the outside world. My assumption is 1) if he imbibes these lessons he will walk into his first class way ahead of the game; 2) He won't read it. I have sent this to people I was sure would get a lot out of it, and never once did I get positive feedback. Maybe Charlie's style is too difficult for people? It's a mystery to me. Has anyone else had this experience? Anyway, here it is, I post it in homage to Munger, who changed my life. https://fs.blog/great-talks/psychology-human-misjudgment/

It's sad... Edited June 2, 2025 by schin

His speech "How to Guarantee a Life of Misery" influenced my decision to stop drinking alcohol. It amazes me too that more people don't emulate Buffett and Munger and use their principles to increase their success in life. When I discovered them both it felt like the key to an unfair secret advantage. Many people I know say they don't have time to read, but endlessly scroll on social media, wasting their lives.
