ValueMaven Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 This book was on Chairman Jay Powell's desk during his interview with 60mins last night (4/11/21). I have not read this book - but if Jay is reading it. I will read it. https://yalebooks.yale.edu/book/9780300244441/first-responders
sleepydragon Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 It’s selling for 1 dollar at amazon right now, and it’s a 600 page book. What’s going on?
boilermaker75 Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 It was showing $1.30 when I went to AMZN. I bought it anyway!

ValueMaven Posted April 12, 2021 Author Posted April 12, 2021 I bought it as well. Coming tomorrow - will know more then. Even for a value guy like me - I can splurged on $1.30
Morgan Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 It’s up to a $1.37 now! I have prime so free shipping too. Something must be wrong on the amazon site for a relatively new book to be priced like this. Anyways, it’s hard to resist at this price.
ValueMaven Posted April 12, 2021 Author Posted April 12, 2021 It has Yale has the publisher and Tim Geithner's profile attached. So who knows. Guess i'll find out tomorrow.
sleepydragon Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 If the price goes back to mid 30s, that will be a 30x return! Beat S&P by a huge margin! We can call ourselves the next Warren Buffett
sleepydragon Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 More than $10 now. 1000% return in one day. Beat the next Warren Buffett guy Chamath
Cigarbutt Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 For those interested in this book, the Big Three had authored a previous collection of essays and had used the label of "firefighters". It looks like some suggested that they were fighting, to some extent, something that they had started (some even used the label arsonists). So, since controlling the message is so important, using the first responders' image in this day and age makes a lot of sense. Don't fight the Fed, they say.
