  1. LOL! +1 SouthernYankee, is that you!?!? We missed you!
  2. Interesting, although nothing new and the journalist makes a few mistakes with the numbers. http://www.investmentnews.com/article/20120918/BLOG06/120919939

  4. Haha, I was just thinking that too! ;D I think they're geniune women. Wonder who checked the box "Don't waste my time!" though.. ;D
  5. I wonder how many famous value investing male ladies there are... LOL! Good catch Mikazo!
  6. I think Norm was being sarcastic here...
  7. Frankly, I'm surprised to hear there is one. You mean just/only one or even one? Looks like up to now we have 2.
  8. They decided to appeal the decision. So hopefully they have more/other material facts or I don't see the point. I think Prem was personaly and deeply hurt by these bad guys and wanted - rightly - to seek justice at all costs. Sad day for him. :(
  9. Always been curious about that but never dared asking...
  10. Eric is pretty much everyone's hero here I'd say... ;)
  11. I think you can add as many slots as you want - just click on Add option. Would be interesting to split the 250K-1M and 1-10M categories. Just my 2 cents...

  13. Because 250 to 1M is a big leap, you'll have a lot of people in this category. Same applies to 1-10 M I guess

  15. Meanwhile common is tanking. Go figure why... ???
  16. Phew! My heart was pounding while watching! Heard that many of those technicians are Natives. For some reason heights does not bother them at all. Or is it an urban legend? Anyway, considering the technology we have nowadays (think about the Canadian arm or even tanker airplanes), I'm surprised it's still done that way, i.e. without some sort of equipment. Same happened to me.
  17. Again, it depends. Have a look at : https://assessmentsearch.calgary.ca/Search.aspx and http://maps.edmonton.ca/ Alek
  18. Turar: Depends on the jurisdiction. Some allow the information to be public (i.e. Montreal, Laval, etc.); others restrict the viewing to property owners only (and real estate agents, lawyers, etc.). Have a look at : http://ville.montreal.qc.ca/pls/portal/docs/PAGE/EVALUATION_FONCIERE_FR/MEDIA/DOCUMENTS/USERGUIDEWEB.PDF http://ville.montreal.qc.ca/portal/page?_pageid=3137,3571745&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL&t=1 http://www.ville.laval.qc.ca/wlav2/wlav.frame.show?p_url=%2Fwlav2%2Feval.app.show&p_returnUrl=%2Fwlav3%2Findex.php%3Fpid%3D302 Ontario has a specially dedicated agency for that : the MPAC (see mpac.on.ca). I suppose it's roughly the same elsewhere. So you have to fetch a bit. Alek
  19. Not that I know much about this, but I think it's principally due to the fact that most of its debt is owned by Japanese citizens and companies (not much outside).

  22. Interesting. I'm surprised they spend only 15% on groceries, restaurants and delis. I spend a lot more than that and believe me it doesn't end up in the garbage bin. Then maybe we pay a lot more for these stuff up here in Canada...? And they don't buy a lot of books/magazines (but then maybe they read online and borrow books from the library). Wonder if that number includes schools books or not.
  23. Good news! Just received MERC's offer in the mail today. Will call my broker Monday morning to tender my shares.
  24. Apparently, if you make less than 100 transactions/year, you don't have to worry...
