Nobody is advocating for that. Like most discussions on here this has gone down a tangential rabbit hole. The whole ID discussion was not about how difficult it is to get and carry ID, it was about why ICE would be stationed at polling stations and whether that was intimidating or not. Nobody has yet been able to say why its rational for them to be there unless it was about political theater. Its not about large scale voting fraud which doesnt appear to exist. So why?

To come full circle, if you agree there isnt voter fraud then why would ICE agents want to set up at polling stations?

Well that's a ridiculous exaggeration. I fully support law enforcement and people properly doing their jobs. The corrupt part is the management sending them to dumb locations that are highly unlikely to yield results for political reasons instead of actually doing the job effectively and efficiently. That is exactly what Newsom would have been referring to.

All that's true but suggesting that theyre going to intentionally set up near voting booths (a very unlikely place for illegals to congregate) is voter intimidation. If youre legal and want to vote on your lunch break you dont want to have to worry about running a gamut of ICE to do it. Setting up at a voting booth is designed for intimidation and political theater.
