Thanks Sanjeev for this wonderful operation! Also to everyone who contributes regularly on this site! I learnt so much/made lot of money based on some of your ideas! Feel little bad as I don't contribute as much as others! -
You should sell when you find superior alternative uses for the capital invested in BRK.

~48% - because of 2 reasonably big positions OSTK & BAC (got lucky on the timing on price). This year's relative performance is the best in last few years. 2008 - (-32%) 2009 - 55% 2010 - 24% 2011 - (-10%)

I have some experience with investing in net-nets in India, getting the adequate information(to ensure MOS) is quite painful. I don't think it is worth the risk/reward doing net-nets. Good companies with proven management with secular wind at their back and buying at reasonable prices is the way to go until they are grossly overvalued. As they are growing economies, there are lots of industries, poised to grow. Some cases, they will grow more than the GDP since they start at very low base(finance & infra etc). Take a look at the deposit/loan growth in banks.

This prediction says more about the person who is predicting than the prediction itself :-)

I'm using Bank of America(Bank) & Merrill Lynch(Brokerage) since the merger.. I get free trades on almost all of them & they don't try to make any money off of me. I must say, i'm happy with their service!

But I see BOA has the lowest growth rate in deposits in top 10 banks next to SunTrust.. I wounder what the reasons could be? -

Investors today cannot benefit from past financial performance of any investment. I am sure we cannot evaluate business/security by the past numbers alone. The future development counts in a big way!

I still own some, carried from WEST->SNS->BH.. Even though he is not treating the shareholders exactly right(at least the way we would think), there are still $ can be made holding these shares at appropriate valuations.

Sanjeev, do you think that's Iconix brands? It has been one of his holdings for a while.. He put 10% of his funds in that now. He owns ~ 3% of the company. The price of those shares are obviously cheap from where he bought, revenues growing north of 20%.. just a wild guess from my view!

It is amazing to see typical fund managers manage money that the way they do & criticizing/characterizing his returns/efforts as risks involved. Very amusing!
