    Thanks. Is the multiple FCF?
  2. I remember you posted this and I was sorely tempted to buy. My sole reason for not entering the position was ‘well it’s GM’. My logic being they will find some way to screw it up.
  3. I’m not sure how to apportion blame, and coming from a LEO background yourself, you can probably spot operational areas better than I can. So I believe you when you say much of the blame is on their actions.
  4. I’m just going to block you for a while dealraker. You lack the self introspection at the moment to realise that the only person raging right now is yourself. This is not the first snide and misplaced remark from you.
  5. It’s not about liking or disliking Alex, I don’t know the guy. Neither of us are disagreeing - he shouldn’t have been killed by ICE. I’m also not saying there haven’t been cases were ICE have overstepped the mark, I’m only saying that in this particular case there is plenty of blame to go round. And a big part of the underlying problem, little recognised, is that people don’t understand the danger they are putting themselves in because they can’t imagine themselves in shoes of an ICE agent.
  6. I feel like Cubs behaviour is at times cultish, but so too is your behaviour. What are you evening talking about? Goodness me.
  7. Yes, he should be alive. However blame doesn’t just lie with ICE. The Alex guy has some responsibility too, as do those who encourage confrontation with ICE, as do those who don’t believe he should be arrested. I said a few pages over, that the ICE guys are doing an awful job, probably anxious and stressed all the time from the constant confrontations, likely fearful for their lives at times, and as a result they are on a hair trigger. Seems to me that the ICE officer who shouted ‘gun’ precipitated the firing. Once one shot was fired it turned into chaos.
  8. Yeh but why are you dismissing the video though? It’s like you are upset that this was uncovered. He’s clearly being violent and aggressive in two other encounters with ICE - plus carrying a gun. Why wasn’t he arrested by the cops for violent disorder? All these people confronting ICE agents should be going to prison for a couple of months for impeding law enforcement. Get them off the street, let ICE do their job, and the people being killed by ICE will drop dramatically.

I think it’s the tariffs (less trade in usd), Fed chair leaving with the expectation of a dovish Fed, and Trump signalling he doesn’t think the dollar is low.
  10. I don’t know what you are talking about, and yes I watched the Carney speech. We can’t divorce facts from this conversation no matter what side you come down on.
  11. I often get a good laugh from Trump’s posts, no matter what anyone says he is genuinely funny. This cringey drunk uncle stuff though. Still funny I suppose.
  12. There are several people, including Parsad and Mephistopheles, who have watched the videos and don’t think that. See the previous few pages for their thoughts.
  13. You wouldn’t short either. You’d short the junior miners. I just had a look at GDXJ, the puts aren’t nearly as expensive as I thought.
  14. Why doesn’t the admin pass a law which makes it illegal to impede ICE in any way? That would help stop these street confrontations and maybe save a few lives?
  15. You know what’s the root cause of all the shootings of protestors? The refusal to just let the ICE guys to do their job. Stay out of their way, comply should you meet them, be nice. They’re doing an awful job, it’s clear they are scared shitless and on edge, and they are killing people they really shouldn’t be because of. This can all be calmed by just letting them remove those who are in the country illegally. Protest at the ballot box, stay alive.
  16. On the topic of a contrarian idea that might outperform, I’m a bit more optimistic about Europe. Nowhere near a slam dunk, but I think their world has been rocked and they are signs they are going to start getting serious (once the SWOT analysis is done ).
  17. I don’t think either were. Neither had to sell their assets. Citi’s unrealised losses were not even that large.

What do people make of the divergence of gold and bitcoin in the last few months. I feel like there is some signal there. The digital gold argument doesn’t seem to be panning out right now.
  19. Think Parsad meant that it would explain Trump’s behaviour and things he said - at least that’s how I took it.
  20. @John Hjorth have you ever said Greenland wasn’t strategically important? Or any of the other things?
  21. I don’t think the Danish or any Europeans said Greenland wasn’t strategically important. Not sure where you are getting that from. European intelligence said that China and Russia were both interested in expanding their influence the Artic, but that’s not the same as saying they were aiming to take Greenland which is NATO territory. I agree with about Europeans not doing enough. As you know. But if anyone’s bluff was called today, and the past few days, it was Trump’s. Who made the threads - Trump. Who backed off them - Trump. How can it be read any other way?
  22. This one got me.
  23. Do people not realise that everyone just tells Trump what they want to hear, and it’s vague enough to mean nothing?
  24. I don’t think anyone claimed Greenland wasn’t important. The question is if it amply protected. It’s in NATO so yes. The Europeans may have downplayed the threat, but Trump outright lied that 1) it wasn’t protected, and 2) it could only be protected if the US owned it. You could argue this is all strategy to get a deal, but it’s very unlikely that deal will be giving away Greenland. The Europeans already suspended ratification of the trade deal and were prepared for counter tariffs. Why anyone thinks the Europeans are going to just hand it over is beyond me.
