Berkshire Hathaway 2025 First Quarter Report
DooDiligence replied to John Hjorth's topic in Berkshire Hathaway
Thank you for making me feel significantly less remorse for selling all my non-taxable shares recently. -

When a bid is placed it will only go as high as the minimum initial price set by the seller. Example: An item is priced with a starting bid of $1 and someone places the 1st bid with a maximum of $5. The price will not go directly to the $5 max bid, but will instead go to $1 until another buyer submits a max bid that is higher than $5. When a new buyer(s) submits a bid(s) the price will increase until it goes incrementally above the highest maximum bid. Bidders can subsequently increase their max bid but it's the mark of an amateur to do so before the final few seconds of the auction. With popular items, you actually want to get a bid in as early as possible and have someone bid on top of you. See notes on "sniping" later in this post. Item initial bid minimum = $1 1st buyers maximum bid = $5 Item price now set to = $1 New buyer bids = $3 New item price = $4 Another buyer bids max $10 New item price = $6 (see previous max bid of $5) Another buyer bids max $15 New item price = $11 (see previous max bid of $10) Another buyer bids max $20 in the last 2 seconds Winning bid is $16 (see previous max bid of $15) == How to Snipe Items on eBay: The best strategy in competitive bidding is to have a bid in, but with someone else bidding on top of you. Now you get the option of increasing your max bid without having to make a second click to confirm (One Click Bid). If you do not already have a bid in then you'll have to click to submit, and then click again to confirm your bid, which won't allow you to "snipe" with a "One Click Bid" in the last 2 seconds of the auction. I usually prepare my maximum bid within a minute of the end of the auction (I don't actually click to submit until the last 2 seconds). If I bid high enough then my winning bid will not go all the way up to my maximum, but will instead go a slight increment above the maximum of the highest bidder. You will frequently see bids start jumping while you wait with your new max bid within the final minute. You can likely give up on this item because amateur bidders have now jumped in. I hope this makes sense and helps you become a skilled sniper.

Not to refute any of what you're saying (in fact I agree), however, the Ugly American (William Lederer) was actually a series of stories about well intentioned US efforts abroad that were ineffective because they didn't address the real needs of the recipients. Many efforts were based on the perspective of our own wants and needs rather than those of the recipients, and the givers often become resentful when things don't work out so well. If only we had leadership which was altruistic and effective, but we don't. We have a malicious, selfish, incompetent toddler who masquerades as the champion of the average American. In actuality, his intent is to solidify the wealth and power of billionaires and suck ups and to establish his dynasty. This guy is missing a golden opportunity to make up for a lifetime of fucking people over. I used to expect that one day he'd get up on a podium and announce that it's all been an act. He'd loudly denounce anyone who ever supported the character he'd been playing and then he'd fire every asshole he'd ever surrounded himself with (thus truly draining the swamp), and begin a program of altruism, optimism and kindness to make the world a better and less dangerous place. But no, his entire life speaks for itself. Malicious incompetence and an unslakable thirst.

I hope they keep it up even if he does do a 90 day pause. Make that bitch cry on national TV.

Nice. I was never a fan of the Simpsons. Gonna have to give them a shot. Apparently cartoons and comedians are taking the place of journalists these days.

Anybody know what tariffs have been imposed on Russia the Soviet Union? Let's face it, it's always been the Soviet Union. Now it's united with the oval office. Traitors in our midst. Ronald Reagan must be spinning about now. I predict the right will start demonizing him soon.

America is already great (or at least it was before alt-right media paved the way for this asshole). It's sad how a populace that has had the best of everything has turned into a bunch of deluded, selfish pricks. America first? Fuck off, we already were first.

Room temp IQ at best.

"Willing to take pain", what a joke. What's he gonna do, forgo buying another golden toilet?

The delusions are strong aren't they? This is what decades of Rush Limbaugh does to your brain.

Just remember, it's bad luck not to buy something from a gypsy.

If it's on his mind, it's coming out of his word hole. There are no secrets with this guy. There's only the refusal to see/hear them by some. MMW, economic distress + social unrest is the goal. and before the haters pile on, no this is not what I want to see. .

There's definitely a plan but it has nothing to do with making America great for the majority of its inhabitants.

I wish they wouldn't have shown that. Here's to hoping no one reads any more. -
Sold all my BRK.B in non-taxable on the pop and earmarked the cash for repurchasing the same +. This guy's flying by the seat of his poop filled pants. There will definitely be more executive market manipulation.

Your logic is seriously flawed. Have you been asleep for the past decade?
