Is this an accurate breakdown of why RH had to shut down?

This is on the edge of my limited knowledge and i guess you wonder if railways obtain good margins on those contracts. Because of commercial 'sensitivity', contract clauses are not widely reported. It seems that railways need to invest (buying and leasing) significant funds to meet this specific demand and ask, in return, for a multi-year commitment and a baseline daily (bpd equivalent) take-or-pay scenario. i think the Alberta government was recently on the hook for such contracts negotiated at at time when prices (and demand) were higher. So, BNSF could be eager to contract for such crude-by-rail agreements and the deals would likely be quite profitable short term but this does not appear to be a long term advantage. The 1st reviewer on Amazon had some interesting things to say about the book. One of the comments was about nanobots being used in humans. I recently finished a scifi series “the Old Mans War” by John Scalzi, in which he presents bio engineered humans with nanoblood, which could handle a lot of things from viruses to enhanced protection of traumatic wound sites. The story includes a lot of other fantastic, seemingly impossible now, ideas. It’s a really fun series to read. I just bought “Singularity” as it seems like it will be a fun read and possibly useful.

Because it can't be leveraged 50x with options forcing a gamma squeeze. I'm just showing off my YOLOtard options knowledge ;) and reinforcing why I'm going to largely stick with straight equity purchases.

I've trolled a few threads in W S B and most of the time I get no responses. I have never specifically posted a thread to troll the entire sub. There are some subs put aside for more serious stonk discussion, and W S B guys troll these with posts which I think are intended to tease / entice actual investors with their fabulous YOLO gains. The r/BerkshireHathaway mods seem to do a good job of taking down tard-posts. r/BerkshireHathaway r/ValueInvesting r/CanadianInvestor A more constructive idea might be to figure out a heavily shorted stock with a decent underlying business that could be pumped up a bit. If you see something getting shorted that you don't think deserves it, all the better. "Hey guys, this thing is getting hammered by the man, but it's really a great company..." or contrarily "Look guys, the valuation on this shite business is insane, you need to listen to the shorts." There used to be some guys here who did DRM and I'll bet they're working on this very idea. --- Bonus idea: Fairfax is languishing and owns some BB. Why not pump fake that?

Can confirm re: Music Appreciation students. I was required to take music history, and I got a lot out of it. It provided great evolutionary context for a lot of the archaeic things we were being taught in Music Theory (Renaissance polyphony and Baroque, for instance). Our class met right before the music appreciation guys and a lot of them seemed to think they were going to sit around and gab while listening to mp3s. Surprise, you get a dumbed down version of music history. One of the many things I learned about higher education is, there are no easy courses. Many students may find some subject matter "easy" to comprehend, but there will always be work involved. If there's no work involved, the instructor needs to be fired. The purpose of higher education is: to learn new material, to learn how to work, to learn how to separate fact from fiction. edit: I haven't read this book, but definitely agree with the concept.
