  2. None on the list are likely to do anything so altruistic.
  3. Why speculate on Zillow when you can own this and sleep well?
  4. That's right up my alley! I recently got a Studiologic Numa 2 organ, and have finally found a great Hammond B3 instructor. He started out as a drummer and brings a percussive aspect to the organ. Our first lesson revolved around thinking of the keys as a set of bongos for some great percussive slap techniques. Will also be continuing jazz proficiency with my old classical instructor. Stoked for the new year!!! I might actually be worth playing with in another year...
  5. Nice! I like the majorish minorish sus chords flow.
  6. I've had Big Yellow Taxi on my "to learn" list forever.
  7. Open G and double drop D are my favs. Peter Frampton used a few odd tunings that he said he got from George Harrison.
  8. This is probably the only bipartisan issue on the hill. www.capitoltrades.com
  9. Medtronic looks interesting. www.medtechdive.com/news/medtronic-diabetes-group-fda-warning-letter-stock-decline/611549/ --- Seems like a short term problem unless they can't get MiniMed problems ironed out?
  10. I really liked Den of Thieves too.
  11. Stella Jones, same? Latest acquisition barely worth mentioning. www.bibbvoice.com/2021/11/04/breaking-news-from-the-centreville-press/
  12. ROP was going to be my answer. Fidelity classifies BRK as a financial, but granted they're hard to classify.
  13. Selling AAPL in 2018 for a mere triple. Selling half my BRK.B in mid 2020 at a tiny gain (I'm slowly buying it back). and the #1 error was selling small portions of my Edwards Lifescience's (it's still my biggest position and growing)... I sense a theme here.
  14. This forum is for discussions that remain largely rational. Politics is fenced off where it belongs, in fantasyland. I don't miss it a bit.
  15. A Paperclip Maximizer is a hypothetical artificial intelligence whose utility function values something that humans would consider almost worthless, like maximizing the number of paperclips in the universe. The paperclip maximizer is the canonical thought experiment showing how an artificial general intelligence, even one designed competently and without malice, could ultimately destroy humanity. The thought experiment shows that AIs with apparently innocuous values could pose an existential threat. The goal of maximizing paperclips is chosen for illustrative purposes because it is very unlikely to be implemented, and has little apparent danger or emotional load (in contrast to, for example, curing cancer or winning wars). This produces a thought experiment which shows the contingency of human values: An extremely powerful optimizer (a highly intelligent agent) could seek goals that are completely alien to ours (orthogonality thesis), and as a side-effect destroy us by consuming resources essential to our survival. www.lesswrong.com/tag/paperclip-maximizer
  16. I added on the dip today, effectively putting the kiss of death on Softbank. www.bnnbloomberg.ca/softbank-poised-to-lose-74-billion-payday-if-arm-deal-is-halted-1.1690618 I'm not betting on the NVIDIA deal going through, but WTFK, maybe Masa will get approval by threatening to set himself on fire again? If not, he'll eventually IPO ARM Holdings and crikey, the proceeds could nearly represent the current market cap of Softbank. www.wsj.com/articles/SB106633694181524900
  17. My man! I added to ADSK on the dip. Not egregiously cheap but I think the market is overreacting to the new cash flow model. The business is here to stay with a ton of pirate copy users who will slowly become subscribers if they want to continue working big jobs. Hell, any jobs. Huge switching costs.
  18. Lot's of hypocrisy on display these days. Imagine the logic behind ass blasting 300 metric tons of CO2 into the atmosphere just to send an overweight, overacting douche like Shatner in LEO. www.cnbc.com/2021/10/13/william-shatner-speech-to-jeff-bezos-after-blue-origin-launch.html
