Well, i guess since i still have my IE on here (not my default) I should update it to 9? Why were all the ads just sayiing "update to IE8 and not IE9" Another question, If i update the IE still on my comp, how do i make it not be my default since it will be the latest browser updated if i do? In case it doesnt ask me

In laymans terms, what is it in the software that makes Chromes so much faster than IE. Man, I always thought it was my comp but it was the damn Browser!!!!!!

...and can anyone tell me where (hopefully there is one) is the function to send/email someone the link I am viewing, while in Chrome? In IE you just go to File i think, select "send link" and my email address book would open up. Thanks edit: I just did some searching and found that there is no such function in Chrome. Why would they do (or not do) that?

At first i was having troubles with the Favourites bar but i went to the "wrench" thing on the top right and i was some how able to have my favourites kind of scrolled along the top of the menu (in addition to where the favourites reside). I also notice when you click on the "+" beside the tab at the top, a new tab opens up with a number of the most recently visited sites. I find this satisfactory compared to how I felt about an hour ago. Its different but its faster...

Well, Im using Chrome and it definately seems faster. Just have to get used to the menus and where the favorites bar is etc etc but that will come. Thanks CornerGuys ;)

Thanks all, Ive chosen Chrome, basically the easiest as it was one of the sites ads up top ;D So, what comes up now is basically just the google search window--- does anyone know how or if i can transport my "favorites" to the Chrome browser? I had to go back into IE to get this sites address as i dont know it by heart lol thanks again Edit: no need- i found it - thanks

Thanks guys, lol, thats what everyone was saying to me. So, do I just download one or the other and go? Do I keep IE 7 installed but not used? Do I have to reset anything else so IE7/8 doesnt run? Sorry for the elementary questions.

Ok, I dont know how but i am now able to auto log in to the site thanks to those who tried to help me. When i asked the same question to people outside this forum I was chastised because i was still using IE7 haha... Problem is i switched to IE8 but my banks site wouldnt recognise/work with IE8. It wouldnt remember my username, i would have to continually answer all the security questions again etc etc. With the smart techys on this board maybe you can steer this non techy the right way ;) So, seeing as banking/trading is prob the most critical issue for people here also, which browsers are you usiing? If anyone else banks RBC direct would appreciate hearing from you also. Does anyone use 2 or more browsers? what would be the benefits to browser A vs B vs C? ( IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc) Thanks

Well, this thread reminds me I havent donated yet :D.. Sanjeev, how about, along with the Tab you maybe can make the Donations/Services thread of its own? That way everyone will see it and be reminded of it since it will be listed on the main screen? The Donations information thread in that sections could be "topped" - perhaps it could also include Member/forum events (again Topped when appropriate). Just a thought....er.. make that thoughts... ::).

I think its pretty easy to find - if someone wants to donate, they will find it. You could prob put a newish thread up everyonce in a while if need extra funds for upgrade etc.

Does anyone know why, on this forum, the login procedure will not keep my username and password for when i log in next time. The old way i just had to click on the site and i was logged in - this way i have to enter username and pw each time. Ive clicked all "keep me logged in" etc. If anyone knows what i have to do to be automatically logged in as soon as I enter the site would be appreciated TIA

Definitely agree with this. tip jar would be the best imo. You definitely don't want to lock new prospective members out. I'll 3rd that. Attracting new fresh minds is a good thing and many young people just getting started wouldnt pay an entry fee - besides, they say the best things in life are free! ;D

Good to know there are good people in that line of work if ever we need good service. I have a non financial blog but i may be looking for some stuff at a later date. I think you're going to see ALOT of activity to reap whatever short term profits are there. Its getting obvious things are not too rosy but some still have the need to make sure term $. With the sence of getting absolutely creamed still in the minds we can most likely see alot of intraday swings like this going forward. This is not your daddys stock market.

The difference that Libya makes is in the marginal production of gasoline. Libyan crude is mostly sweet - less sulfur and more gasoline per barrel of refining. The newer crude discoveries are mostly heavy - higher sulfur content. yes but if you recall it was Libya that was used as the justification(excuse) when this price gouging all started. I just hope those that deserve it get their heads handed to them.

I dont know the answer without research but i can tell ya Gasoline prices arent going to plummet enough for it to make sence.... Libya or no Libya...

Nothing wrong with holding 80% FFH but it too is going down 4-5%. Over time you will be ok though.... Nope, got 20% in FFH and 80% in BRK. ;D I didn't expect FFH to take such a big hit and the plan was to switch half to something else, now I am not sure I should. And if this isn't over I definitely don't want out. Sorry that was a Typo, I did mean BRK it too is down 4% ish today..(where the hell did i get FFH from lol)..
