I was wondering if anyone on this board has any experience investing in SPACs. How do you go about finding them & researching them. For me, I have found them always by accident or through Value Investors Club. Any suggestions or guidance?

I just started looking at a company called Advance America (AEA). 2 Questions: 1. Does anyone else follow them? 2. Does anyone have any idea the reason for the decline in Net Assets and BV? Thanks :)

yep, yellow brkers is great!! a lot of fun. def a cool way for you guys to meet new people. also there's whitney tilson's party on friday night. I also highly recommend this place called upstream for dinner. it's a pub like place with its own microbrewery. food is great as well as the beer. there's also a motley food party which was on a friday night as well last time....not sure about this year, i came at the end...we all hung with bill gates. i asked him if he had an iPod. he said no.

Why do you say they are unreliable?

They're still traded. They just delisted. I'm not sure if they have under 300 shareholders or not though. If they do, they'd be considered an exchanged traded private company.

Anyone who puts themselves out there, not everyone is going to like. Everyone will experience someone differently. Now someone can be responsible for another persons experience of them but that's a different conversation and one that I'm not sure I'd be able to explain anyway. Regardless, Whitney puts himself out there, he says what's on his mind. Some people find him great, some people it rubs off the wrong way, some people are neutral. He's a very committed individual who really is passionate about what he does. He's very giving and always willing to help or contribute in anyway he can. I know he's very involved not just in business but in all different walks of life. I think he's an amazing human being.
