I'm sure there is abuse...no different than what we are seeing on the opposite end now. Children being swept up...families broken apart...legal citizens incorrectly rounded up...not sure wrongs on both sides make everything ok. If you are the child of an illegal, but have birthright citizenship, but don't have your documentation because your parents held it or misplaced it...they sweep you up. If you are an approved asylum seeker, but misplaced your documentation...they sweep you up. If you entered the country legally, but misplaced your documentation...they sweep you up. No one said getting deported is inhumane. It depends on how you do it. As I've stated over and over, there is due process even for illegal immigrants in the United States, Canada, Europe, etc...you cannot simply bypass that process. Cheers!

Doesn't matter...zero! There is nothing that a citizen should protect more than the right to due process and protection of their rights and freedoms. Not even your family! Because without those rights and the rule of law, you and your family, including generations of your family, could be subjugated and reduced to non-citizens with no rights or due process. What if you are someone who came here legally, but accidentally let your visa expire or forgot to renew. Now you are considered illegal...you have the right to due process to allow a judge to decide if it was deliberate or accidental. How about if your parents came illegally, but you were born here...you have birthright citizenship, but no formal documentation. You have the right to due process. There are many people who come here as refugee applicants...or seek asylum...or are here to work on various visas...or here on visitor visas. No criminal record. They haven't done anything wrong except to renew, extend or reapply for status. Cheers!

Jesus...of course it's not ok, but the system gives everyone a process to follow...which happens to be the law! To ensure the destruction of civilization, the fastest way to do that is to ignore the laws that give everyone due process and respect for their rights. Yes, and that is what the courts are for. If the courts tell you that you have to pay a $100,000 fine for something, you have the right to not pay and appeal that. You even have the right not to pay it all all and the let the court system move through the process to prosecute you or seize your assets. That is why the system is designed the way it is. Cheers!

So they moved to more capital intensive businesses, including their insurance business, where large amounts of free cash flow can be reinvested in durable businesses. At every level, from the citizen right up to the Federal Government, there are laws and rights in place for everyone...including cities and states. They are well within their rights and laws to act for or against any decision they believe impeded or goes against those rights and laws. There are different ways of completing a task. The point is that the current administration is pushing the limits of the Bill of Rights to complete their task, and are the inhumane examples truly necessary to accomplish that task...like picking up an elementary student without informing her family (if that video is accurate). If that was my niece or nephew, I would have gone through that group of ICE members regardless of the outcome for me. Just no way any fucker is taking one of them like that! Cheers!

During the decade when the stock was stagnant under Ballmer's watch, Buffett bought railroads, energy, insurers and Apple...I'm not going to balk at him for not buying MSFT which could have gone the other way if it wasn't for Nadella, while Berkshire continued to thrive and grow! Cheers!

He did see it. He just didn't know the durability of the business. It's easy to see a juggernaut in hindsight. Sergei and Larry even sent Buffett a copy of their company handbook/beliefs that emulated Berkshire's. Charlie and Warren even spoke about it one of the AGM's...I was there. I could have bought Google at $80 a share when it IPO'ed. I had no idea of the durability. They just didn't know if another company would come in and be just as competitive...both on search or ads.
