I guess you will be able to see some kind of correction transaction in your account statement. I see it relative often at IB for corporate actions, although it is usually for very small amounts (stuff like a $0.01/share difference in withholding tax) Well that was the thing. What spooked me is that there was no line item explaining it. The account was just missing MONEY. The rep really had no clue -- I'll get to the bottom of it by Monday I'm sure -- but it sure freaks me out that your account balance can just change with no explanation. I downloaded all my statements to my computer as well as trade confirmations -- out of an abundance of caution.

Yeah I hope so. Annoying that the team that made the move didn't look more carefully -- annoying that both that team as well as the more senior guys in corporate action were all out of the office when I called because it took so long for them to figure out what had happened. I hope it's easily fixed on monday.

TDAmeritrade removed a 5 figure sum of money apparently due to SHLDV (SHLD stub from LE spinoff) having a 12/31/2014 record date. For those who have had an issue like this was it easy to have fixed?

Quick question for the board. I'm looking into a domestic REIT conversion. My understanding is that the purge is taxable at the ordinary income rate. If I own this company/REIT in a roth IRA am I shielded from this tax?

It seems to me that in the past shld has closed kmart stores in the 1st qtr (after Christmas season) as opposed to the 4th qtr.(closed before Christmas). They indeed may be trying to take advantage of the busier shopping season before Christmas to liquidate more quickly. It is interesting that some of these stores have leases expiring at later dates and are still closing before the lease ends. anyway thanks to all for keeping up with store closures here in this thread. I think when you liquidate before the christmas season you are doing so b/c you do not want to or cannot stock up on inventory for the christmas season for the stores in question. In May of 2010 Laszio offers to buy a couple of pizzas for 10,000 Bitcoin -- hopefully they were delicious. I'll pay 10,000 bitcoins for a couple of pizzas.. like maybe 2 large ones so I have some left over for the next day. I like having left over pizza to nibble on later. You can make the pizza yourself and bring it to my house or order it for me from a delivery place, but what I'm aiming for is getting food delivered in exchange for bitcoins where I don't have to order or prepare it myself, kind of like ordering a 'breakfast platter' at a hotel or something, they just bring you something to eat and you're happy! I like things like onions, peppers, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, pepperoni, etc.. just standard stuff no weird fish topping or anything like that.
