  1. Wow thank you! I have seen a lot of letters floating around but many of those i have never seen.
  2. Have not seen full thing. I have seen Zerohedge and Valuewalk (and maybe Marketfolly) post segments in the past (which were not removed). I get the feeling Baupost will ACCEPT it if someone writes a summary and/or quotes small segments. They only ask for removal if large or entire portions are posted.
  3. This is so damn funny! Icahn's such a dick...very funny. Cheers! The only reason to watch CNBC is for moments like this. What a bunch of children!
  4. Klarman not a fan of Bernanke it seems :) 20% of portfolio is Lehman debt it seems. http://www.valuewalk.com/2013/01/baupost-groups-seth-klarman-sees-50-shades-of-value-in-the-market/
  5. The PIIGs are extremely cheap (an understatement) on a quantitative basis. Obviously, the macro problems are known to all, and I personally think the euro-crisis is not over. But I am not a market timer. I own some of the ETFs (which are not the best tracking tools) with the largest allocation to Greece. I am scared to buy individual names, as I do not have enough time and doubt its in my circle of competence, but I would consider a basket of equities. Is anyone here investing the region? If so, how? Thanks in advance.

  9. Thanks! You have link? Not great navigating here.
  10. I have been thinking but Marks' is already managing quite a bit of money. On the other hand, I try not to copy investors, but Einhorn bought a week after the IPO. Also, Doubleline has great AUM growth, and it seems to just be picking up. I have read sell side reports, and they dont even mention the doubleline stake! This article I believe originally from the CFA Institute makes really good case for OAK? Any thoughts? http://www.valuewalk.com/2013/01/value-investing-in-practice-a-conversation-about-oaktree/

  14. YW. I love Einhorn, because he is someone able to see across party lines. For some reason QEIII has become a political issue, but Einhorn ferociously attacks the policy (not 1st time) and is a democrat.

  18. http://www.valuewalk.com/2012/10/should-value-investors-change-their-style-tom-russo-vs-mohnish-pabrai/ I would add that although Pabrai had awful 08, Russo had a bad 08 as well.

  20. When describing how we manage money, we value investors often use terms that slide effortlessly off the tongue. This article is a real life chronology of an investment which the author believed had a ‘margin of safety' embedded in his purchase price. The investment journey turned out to be far more complicated than envisaged. Luckily we can all learn a little from his experience. http://www.valueinstitute.org/viewarticle.asp?idIssue=1&idStory=120
