I won’t disagree at all. It’s looking more & more like a stalemate war of attrition. I hear lots of talk from Europe, but not too much action. But it’s been a hellavu high price for Russia- and I think they’re done taking European territory.
-
It may be a redline for Putin, but he sure is paying dearly now. He probably got the message that anymore shenanigans with other European nations will be even more costly. It’s unfortunate that events had to go this far for Russia’s neighbors to wake up. Better late than never, but much more costly.
-
Exactly - the semi-neutral Muslims are going to side with the strongest(winner). The reason they’ve lost confidence in the West, is they think we will cut & run - so you certainly can’t blame them. It’s up to Israel now.
-
I’m sure The Hague is all in favor of harboring terrorists and storing/firing missiles from those refugee camps. Sure they are.
-
Maybe I read your original post incorrectly: I assume you said the Israel is committing war crimes. Perhaps I’m wrong. Regardless - Israel is in the fight of their lives. Egypt, Jordan and the Saudis want no part of this.(nor do they want Palestinians) In the fight for your life, proportionally has no place. Israel MUST win and they will. The Palestinians can EASILY end this. Simple: release hostages, dump Hamas. War is over. If not - Israel will do it for them. It makes ZERO sense to hold back any pressure. ZERO. Your enemy is cooked. Only an idiot would stop now. Hamas is not capable of defeating Israel. The sooner the better, because Israel will need to turn its attention to Hezbollah very quickly.
-
And it should be very clear of the objective here: eliminate Hamas and deter Hezbollah. The USA dropped a bomb on Japan. A horrible act of violence. The war in the Pacific is over. What happened to that guerrilla war in Japan?? Nothing.. What about the uprising in Germany? Never happened. The facist military dictatorship were replaced once and for all - with 70 years of peace. Palestinians get to make their own choice. Peace or more war??? Up to them.
-
Yeah, I totally disagree. War is war. It is not a “test” or limited to proportionality. War is a last final step when diplomacy fails. War is a test of who is the strongest. We all know it’s Israel- even the Palestinians know it. That makes them fools for testing the resolve of Israel. It’s like the bully that bothers you countless times in school , until you decide to flatten him for good. The bully had it coming, and was a fool for testing you, not understanding that you would be capable of an act of violence to set you straight. ”Proportionally” is an idiotic concept in war - because war settles the issue of who is strongest once and for all. The determination to use that strength was SERIOUSLY misjudged by the fools in Hamas - and unfortunately their people are paying the price. Now it will be the decision of the Palestinian people as to whether they allow Hamas to run their affairs after it’s over. If they do - they are indeed fools. Proportionality has no place in this discussion of the final option of war. Its now a simple decision: give up hostages, give up Hamas - and you will get peace. Your choice: unconditional surrender.
-
Interesting comment: last I remember. Hamas attacked Israel and took hostages. Israel then declared war on Hamas. They declared war, meaning the strongest is determined to win. Is it a war crime to give civilians ample time to evacuate the battlefield your enemy holds? Why should Israel fight with there hands tied behind their back? The objective of war is to win and destroy your enemy regardless of scale or proportion.

Such is the piecemeal approach of Biden’s foreign policy. Wait until things blow sky high until you do something. There is no strategy and has never been. Just look at the appeasement of Hamas.

Over 40? That’s shocking. Brave citizens.

It’s been very successful for Ukraine. Displacing Russia is proving to be very costly. According to the DC stalwarts like Max Boot and Bill Krystal back in March, you’d have thought Russia was doomed. The more important point I was trying to get at - what’s the level of casualties the Ukraine can sustain before Europe needs to provide forces?
-
I said I didn't know - and neither do you. If you want to believe the numbers the US and Ukrainian government gives you - have at it - I really don't give a shit. The war is not exactly going as claimed before the spring offensive was launched.
-
Thanks for your idiotic response. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Sure, the US government & US media have not made a habit of lying to us on a number of important issues, including the Ukraine war.. Sure thing.
-
So basically, to net it out: no one knows how many killed. Which is what I am saying. What we do know is that everyone and their brother in the West (fueled by government spokesmen & media) claimed the spring offensive would destroy Russia, which clearly was bullsit.
-
Thanks - and I hope you’re correct. But I trust the US gov about as much as Ukraine’s - not much. So far, Tucker and other sources have been much more honest on any issue that impacts our government and their foreign interests. A perfect example is the US/Iran fiasco
-
I don’t know. I do know that we’ve been lied to a lot. Certainly the narrative this winter that Russian forces will collapse with the spring offensive was total bullshit. So I tend to believe the Ukrainian estimates as bogus and more propaganda.
-
Yeah 500k dead and 6M refugees is a catastrophe. 100K sounds way too low.
-
Yeah, that’s really a tough one to understand.
-
How in the world are you provoking Russia when there was peace and Russia invaded you?? You are operating with very twisted logic.
-
This guy is a farce. He blames the West for causing this. How lame to make excuses and in effect ok Putin’s invasion. Then he says we armed them and assumed that Ukrainian manpower would defeat Russia ! What planet is this guy from…Ukraine was NOT armed by the west before the invasion and everyone expected that Ukraine would be overrun by the Russians . This guy had zero credibility
-
This is a very good clip, in that it encapsulates the current dilemma. Americans support the war BUT what are the goals of this administration? They obviously don’t know and certainly are not making it clear to Americans. that’s a problem for the war effort.
-
Bingo! And exactly right!
-
John - don’t get me wrong. The US support for the actions against Russia in Ukraine is very strong in this country. But, concurrently, you have the worst border crisis is history happening. It’s getting worse every month. So you have 100,000 Americans per year dying of fentanyl poisoning. Every year . Shit, we only lost 5 or 6,000 in Afghanistan and Iraq combined over 20 years! The Mexican cartels are killing Americans as they flood the country with fentanyl. Not to mention widespread child & human trafficking. The southern border is a catastrophe. Americans are finally catching on, and support for an administration that spends hundreds of billions to protect another country’s borders, but nothing to protect US borders is causing support for Ukraine to fail. it’s a real danger to the cause - so don’t shoot the messenger. in the end, the US has weak, corrupt and terrible leadership. Everyone knows that Biden is corrupt to Ukraine - payoffs & bribes. Biden & son took his bribes way back in 2015, but did nothing to protect Ukraine back then.
-
No kidding. The southern border is the most serious issue the USA has..it’s a layup to secure that border. America is losing its support for Ukraine when the hypocrites in DC protect another country’s sovereignty.
-
You totally miss the issue. Americas become more and more upset with a president hell bent on protecting Ukraine’s border, while he destroys our own. There is no Southern border anymore- it does not exist. these issues are totally related as they are enforced by the same administration. these issues are costing Biden big support at home
