Damn, that seems totally right on. Think of the vast wealth that could have been created in Iran, Lebanon and Gaza - like the Saudis and UAE. Such a waste of aid & resources. I do think the Gulf States are still terrified of Iran, and now would be the time to change the direction of the Middle East. They need to be convinced that Israel and the USA will continue being there to pull it off. Pretty obvious Europe doesn't care about them.

Iran has no income prospects. Iran can't stop Israel or the US from bombing all they like. With satellite surveillance every 24 hours on the nuclear sites - it's a cakewalk to bomb even if the US eventually withdraws. Iran likely has $1T worth of assets destroyed. With a blockade and no ability to rebuild military assets - you think Iran's citizens just stand by and watch any income they can muster get used to rebuild and then destroyed again? A blockade and/or destruction of power plants, rail, bridges, etc - leave Iran in a very weak position. We will find out soon enough.

Totally, the Eastern Europeans are much better - they understand the Russian threat - and have handled the Islamic issue vastly better. But if the US ends up with a handful of Allies, such as Israel, Hungary, Argentina, Poland, etc - we'll be vastly better off than the cheaters of NATO.
