You totally miss the issue. Americas become more and more upset with a president hell bent on protecting Ukraine’s border, while he destroys our own. There is no Southern border anymore- it does not exist. these issues are totally related as they are enforced by the same administration. these issues are costing Biden big support at home

This very issue sticks in the craw of many Americans. Just proves how worthless Biden is - he will defend Ukraine’s borders but not our own. Biden loves Ukraine more than his own citizens. Of course, if you took millions in bribes, you got to return the favor, while you spit on your own citizens.

yeah, exactly the point. Protect Western Europe. Protect the South China Sea and Allies. The galvanizing of NATO was long overdue. That’s the real silver lining on this war, regardless if Ukraine territory is lost. China is watching Europe and the US closely.

Tough one, but important question. I’d say beyond significant material support- should Russia prevail. No, but the west would need to figure out a permanent penalty to make it very painful. Europeans entitled to a different viewpoint, since this never should have happened and threatens them the most. I certainly wouldn’t feel good living in Poland or the Baltic States.

Understand. Russia is not exactly a joke anymore and they are a well entrenched defender. The west has the advantage for weapons, but unlikely the will to send troops. I fail to see how Ukraine can sustain large manpower losses with an offensive. It looks like a stalemate, war of attrition.

@changegonnacome has a point on manpower. Russia has 144M citizens, Ukraine had 43M, but 10M or so have left and I’m unsure of the population in the occupied territories. I doubt the West wants to supply troops, but is willing to keep military aid going. The AirPower in the West dwarfs the Russians. Between US & Northern European air power, it’s not much of a contest. It comes down to the will to use it.

I don’t disagree at all. I’m saying we’re headed to a DMZ, much like N & S Korea. A heavily fortified border that is manned forever.

I agree they will run out of men. Gotta be awful now with 10 million that have left country. I doubt they run out of weapons with the West behind them - I guess we’ll see. Yeah, and I agree, they should have made their deal a few months ago. The vaunted Spring Offensive didn’t go as planned. A war of attrition means Putin gets to keep his gains which is currently a wasteland.

This really is looking like Verdun. High casualties on both sides for small progress. Found it easy to be all juiced up this past winter with the coming “spring offensive” that was going to be the turning point. Now reality setting in for the Ukrainians. Russia can keep throwing manpower at this, which Ukraine really can’t match.

You have your own opinion, and that’s ok. To say it’s unthinkable that China will invade Taiwan is pretty darn extreme, because their actions over the last year or so could not make any clearer. China is clearly not a good neighbor- and once Taiwan, then how is South Korea going to feel surrounded by China, N Korea and Russia?? There is huge political risk with Xi in charge and a extremely senile & weak US President that is completely compromised by China.

It’s worse than that- the fire fighters were denied water by the island’s water board. Most hydrants were dry when tapped. The board’s director was “reassigned” today. On the website it says he was the proponent of “water equity “ - what ever that means. By the time they released water to the fire fighters, it was too late.

My life is wonderful and is much better for all than 40 years ago. What’s failing is the notion of being an American. Tribalism will kill this once great country. We’re on the precipice. You kill meritocracy, you destroy parent’s rights, you turn the schools into political institutions instead of true learning, you throttle the 1st Amendment, you use the government to jail your political opponents, you destroy the country’s borders, you make every discussion about racism, you make a large majority dependent on socialism…. You are well on your way to destroying America and turning it into Ecuador. That’s exactly how you do it

Hey - it’s not that China has not been an economic miracle, because it has. The issues have to do with COVID, Taiwan and dominance of South Asian countries. That’s all. Will China continue to behave like Russia?? On that question, the jury is clearly out.

China will be a major player, the question for the world is - will they be a good neighbor?? From the looks of Taiwan and the South China Sea - it does NOT look promising…
