I think our bigger problem right now is that the entire younger generation want to be influencers rather than pickup any of the highly paid trades right in front of them.
Where are the parents in all this? Most of my family are in construction, mainly residential. None of them want their kids in construction. They rather their kids work at a mall in a clean environment and make minimum wage than work in their own line of work. They are almost all sending their kids to college instead of having them come join the trade. For the non-college route, those "kids" are mostly chilling at home.
None of them doing bad either. Pretty much everyone is making $100k+ in mostly cash/checks but none of their kids are even close to a construction site.

Endeavor Energy Partners is exploring a sale that could value the largest privately-held oil and gas producer in the Permian basin of the United States at between $25 billion and $30 billion, according to people familiar with the matter.
https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/exclusive-endeavor-energy-explores-sale-185530390.html
Endeavor produced 331,000 barrels of oil equivalent in the second quarter of 2023, up 25% from the corresponding period in 2022, according to Fitch Ratings. The credit ratings agency projected last month that Endeavor will generate about $1 billion of free cash flow in 2024.

I think this offshore trend extends all the way from Venezuela to Brazil. $APA / Total already have several gushers in Suriname next to Guyana. PBR intends to drill in Brazillian offshore waters there. This will probably be a monster exploration area similar to shale in the USA. Opec better watch out or try to get this countries into their fold but in a way it wont matter, because for these countries, drilling for these resources is a no brainer.
Yes... The only thing stopping this likely massive haul is their respective governments...

Guyana
hope they don't fall into the resource curse...

Oakland A's are losing money
They will be ok.
The most immediate impact on the team’s income statement will be from MLB’s revenue-sharing distribution. MLB’s last collective bargaining agreement made the A’s eligible for that windfall, but there was a hitch. The A’s would receive only a 25% share in 2022, a 50% share in 2023, a 75% share in 2024 and a full share in 2025. The shares in the last two years were contingent upon the A’s having an agreement in place for a new ballpark by 2024. No agreement, no revenue sharing.
The team’s 25% take in 2022 amounted to $9 million, meaning a full share would have been $36 million. Assuming the agreement for a new ballpark in Las Vegas is in place by January 15, the team is going to get upwards of $50 million from revenue sharing in 2024 and 2025 combined.
While $50 million may not seem like a ton of money considering the billions flying around in team valuations, it would have been substantial for the beleaguered A’s. That figure would represent almost one-quarter of the team’s total revenue prior to the $9 million of revenue sharing it booked and more than 70% of its total player costs, including workers’ compensation and insurance and bonuses.
TEAM VALUE $1.18B Calculated March 2023

Ps: how do you multiquote on this forum software to cut up a single quote as I attempted above?
Highlight the section you want to quote, then Quote selection button come up. The quote pops into you reply box. Write your piece, then go back to the post, highlight another section, and Quote selection again. New quote will go below what you wrote.

Managed to grab a minuscule amount of NEN shares @ 65 this morning so that’s cool.Bought a little more BTI.
We’ll see what the rest of the day brings. It’s nice to be able to finally find attractive investments (at least on the surface) after a couple months of twiddling my thumbs, unable to find much.
Holding NEN requires filing MA tax return right?

My friend uses one in Guatemala City and loves it. He said it costs more than his previous service but it's super reliable and fast.

Just closed on a Maui condo today. I have one more real estate deal in the works and just closed my last one late July, so I’m sorry to all those with real estate, it’s probably the top as I’m piling in.
Congrats!

What do you do with all those eggs? Do you freeze them...doesn't that change the texture? Generally, the best before is about a month out. Cheers!
No, we won't freeze them. It's more than usual amount I like to have on hand but the deal was too good to pass up. We're a family of 3 and the grandparents visit 1/week.
Cantonese/Chinese dishes:
3-4 eggs for Tomatoes Eggs
4-5 for silky soft Steamed eggs
1-2 eggs in egg noodles/ramen
3-4 eggs for bitter melon with eggs
https://thewoksoflife.com/ - I don't follow their exact recipes but more for a source of inspiration.
When we have many, the wife likes to make ramen eggs or more rarely tea eggs.
I personally eat more non-Asian food than my family so I do a breakfast taco/burrito or scrambled eggs every couple of days. Some weekends I make a frittata and that takes up 6-8 eggs.
We eat what's in season and what's on sale. The menu changes accordingly to that, unless it's a special occasion.
