  2. Thanks again for your wisdom
  3. Nice thanks...I am at the point where i am going transition high % to long term assets vs buying and selling....this way I can lower taxes but if opportunity pops up will keep buying undervalued companies and sell when they become fairly valued goal is to have core portfolio (currently FFH + JOE + APO) + short term (less than 3 years) portfolio my worry is to much short term trades say avg + six months can cause issue with the tax man ...
  4. Thanks what sectors is the other 50% in...this is the type of stocks to buy the ones you can keep for a long period of time lol
  5. lol thanks is your long term goal to keep brokers around 50%...only one thing is they pay under 1% div lol
  6. Whats your % weight of insurance broker in your portfolio
  7. I am thinking of adding to...I wonder why they don't have options on this ...Anyone know why this dropped today
  8. I think this time its also him stepping aside which caused stock to halt / move lower......it started going back up until the downgrade that came out this week...they do have a solid business so eventually it will balance out...
  9. Wealth Simple looks promising with introduction of norbert's gambit ...might move my tfsa and rrsp there...for TFSA use that to do margin on non-registered if you can hold dual listed stocks on the US side....my non-registered account stays with IKBR (best out there to trade around the world + low margins)
  10. yup and Carney having the Green mindset...Canada needs to unleash all the resources / critical minerals and other projects / cut the carbon taxes for corporation / lower corp taxes ect
  11. rumor is maybe there might be another federal election...If conservatives win that's the sign to buy up...until then I selectively buy

  13. even if it doesn't trade inline with peers the earnings itself will have multiple expansion ...plus they will keep buying stock...thats why I keep wondering what happens when share count gets to 10m to 15m ....I could see that happening in like 5 years from now
  14. I am not sure what they did but but combined ratio beat , premiums also beat and also earnings... lower cat
  15. Chubb just posted good earnings Chubb Ltd $CB Earnings Report 1⃣ Revenue: $14.87B vs. est. $14.57B 2⃣ EPS: $7.49 vs. est. $5.51
  16. I think this is based on Progressive and Travelers earnings which might have caused panic selling on FFH...but FFH is also different they are not on the US market and on the TSX there is a lot of investors who want higher yield divs...ie hence why IFC trades at a higher multiple ... Earnings is out probably next week ...then this should recover but no one will knows when this bottoms ...I did add more today ...risk/reward here is good
  17. Blackout period so its only the automated purchases based on what was set before until earnings
  18. But I think this was different trigger was Progressive and Travelers earnings
  19. another interesting to see will be if any of the automated purchases at Fairfax triggered during blackout Window
  20. Fairfax owns 14,899,273 of CLF shares it will be really interesting to see if they sold this Yesterday during the comment on rare earth mining ...that would be 200m if they did to allocate to other investments
  21. added more ffh
  22. Wonder if FFH uses this opportunity to exit CLF (shared recived from STLC acquisition)
