Very cool...protein was protected under the enamel of the Rhino tooth.  May be able to do the same with dinosaur teeth.  Cheers!

Explain this to me as if I'm mentally handicapped and reduce it to this simple question :

Will I be able to pet a raptor in a zoo within 10 years?

 

Bonus question : Megalodon?

Maybe not a Raptor, but how about a baby Triceratops or Woolly Mammoth?  

 

On the bonus...do we really want to bring Megalodon back as the apex predator in the water?  Probably not!  I think most people are fine with a 14 foot Great White.

I think it’s more likely we reverse engineer them starting Lizards through genetic engineering & Breeding. I think the  DNA protein from fossils is to denaturalized to reconstruct whole thing and even if we could, it would not by itself mean we could create a dinosaur.
