nafregnum
Last week I discovered a real gem among podcasts: Masters in Business with Barry Ritholtz. He has these awesome discussions with smart folks in investing -- here are some favorites below. If you listen to it, do you have any favorite discussions? Do any of you have other favorite podcasts on investing? premfan
For being a learning machine= Tim Ferriss For venture tech investing/ tech insights= Exponent/ Origins podcast For business owners/ startup founders/ inspiration = NPR how i built this. Anything labeled as a niche or "blank" investing avoid. Listening to niche investing podcasts by osmosis you might follow the rules of the collective in that particular space. Mid cap investing podcasts would be novel!
TBW
Haha. A midcap one would be novel. I have to say I can't stand Barry Ritholtz. I find him too overbearing on his guests, interrupts too much, tries to seem too smart etc. He does get amazing guests and I still do listen from time to time, but I often think how much better the show could be if someone else hosted. I could be alone on this. A couple podcasts I would add: Oddlots - bloomberg podcast Grant's Podcast Not exclusively Finance/investing Energy Gang - look into energy sector, esp clean energy and renewables. It's excellent Crimetown - look into Providence, RI mob scene - it's awesome Reply All - I am sure most podcast fans already listen to this one Startup - by Gimlet media - last season was on former American Apparel CEO - really worth listening to. CorpRaider
MIB has some good interviews. But I must admit I've probably not listened in half a year. I think I got annoyed that I couldn't find it on stitcher and had to use the bloomber radio app. He does sometimes talk waaay too much. Kind of cringeworthy when he's beating Asness or Arnott about the head with that T3 law degree. ;D
CorpRaider
Meb faber and those the investor's podcast guys are good sometimes. Sometimes you just listen to PP talk about how they are fundamental investors and then just talk about macro speculation and ray dalio the whole time. Mid cap investing podcasts would be novel! Can you expand on why the niche or "blank" investing should be avoided? I assume you mean the guys who specialize in tech or software or energy etc? I could be alone on this. You're not alone on this. He's hit and miss for me. I found it funny when he interviewed Aswath Damodaran, he pronounced Damodaran 3 different ways. Damo-dahran, Damo-darren and I think the last one was Damo-doorin. ;D

Liberty's list above are my favorites plus ; For Silicon Valley themes: A16z (this is the VC firm, Andressen Horowitz, podcast, they also have interesting audio that is on their website, but is annoyingly not on their podcast.) John Mihaljevic, Manual of Ideas, has a monthly podcast that is very good. NPR politics Shane Parish, Farnam Street has one Harvard Business Review The Big Think
