gaf63 Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Interesting and unusual to see a block of 11,000 shs of FFH trade at 16:04:30 $5 above closing price. Most days 100-200 shares trade after 1600 and are usually included in the days trade. FFH buying in shares or another entity opening/increasing a position at close??
Grenville Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Interesting and unusual to see a block of 11,000 shs of FFH trade at 16:04:30 $5 above closing price. Where do you find such block trade data, especially for after hour trades? Is it available on a basic site like yahoo or google, or do you need to use a brokerage service?

gaf63 Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 In the streamer at Scottrade, there is an option for a time and sale box. Time of trade , size and price for stock of choice.
Crip1 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Gosh darn it...I TOLD my broker to make my purchase DURING market hours, not AFTER...this is precisely the kind of commotion I wanted to avoid. ;) -Crip
Partner24 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Crip ahaha ;) So, you are on your way to own more than 50% of the common stocks of the company? :)
Partner24 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Ok Crip, I'll don't tell, but I think Sanjeev heard us and he is out to lunch ;)
Guest Broxburnboy Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Also spike in price today. Maybe the remaining FFH CDS book is beginning to look more attractive: http://thefundamentalview.blogspot.com/2009/09/china-and-buzz-of-pending-bank-default_03.html
Cardboard Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I am glad to see Fairfax share price rebounding. IMO, it is very important since I believe that the acquisition of their remaining stake in Odyssey Re will require some Fairfax stock. The price was starting to head down dangerously. Cardboard
