Well when people show undying love and approval for a person (not a party or cause) and unquestioning support for anything they say or suggest even if it contradicts previous positions, gotta call em like i see em.
-
If your post was handwritten there would be little hearts over the i's
-
Suspect they're hanging around the hoop for a couple of years hoping more rational heads prevail.
-
Hedged out a good chunk of my JPM with a strangle. Have held it way too long to actually sell it (massive tax hit) but its had a good run up and the downside definitely outweighs the upside here.
-
Susan Wiles herself said that any action on the ground in Venezuela would require congressional approval.
-
Im not saying the law is grey I'm saying the morality and justification is grey (as it always is). The law is clear. The President only has that right if the US is under attack. Otherwise the constitution requires congressional approval
-
And to the point just made by @twocities the whole purpose of having the law be the definitive judge is because of grey areas. Because people disagree and the outcomes can be massive and long lasting. Coward has zero to do with it because the outcome is exactly the same. To your entire point - its a question of right or wrong. If its the right thing to do then following the law is fast, easy and just as effective. This was no emergency situation that had to be dealt with today. According to the administration its been in the works for months.
-
Exactly the opposite. I DONT want to operate on theory and ideology. I want to operate based on the law. There is a legal route to the US engaging militarily with a foreign power. And that was not taken. You are claiming thats okay because most people agree that ideologically Maduro was evil. Its not regardless of how evil he is. The law must be followed.
-
You're missing my point. My view of Maduro is that he is terrible and I'm glad he is gone. But that is my personal opinion and personal opinions are not enough to justify breaking the law. Im sure there are millions globally who love the guy. Just like Putin and Un and other dictators. And for the actions taken the "getting together and forming a consensus" by getting congressional approval IS the law. The fact that intelligent people can disagree is exactly the reason that law is in place. If a majority agree then action can ve legally taken.
-
Do you agree that Putin should be removed? What about Netanyahu? What about the head of the UK? There are people who wholeheartedly support the removal of just about every head of state in the world. But just because we agree or not we dont go out on the whim of whoever is in charge that month and take them out.
-
No. The laws that govern have been created, adapted, modified and amended to apply to our society. The can be judged and they can be appealed. I follow the law because that is the entire basis for how our society functions. If you dont follow the law and just what you personally think is right and wrong you have chaos.
-
Right or wrong depends entirely upon who youre asking. Its why the law exists. Its the entire basis for our western culture.
-
I've yet to hear anybody on either side argue that Maduro was anything other than an evil dictator (like probably a dozen other ones that exist in the world today). And his post didn't even have a mention of Maduro (or even Venezuela). The issue here is not whether dictators exist it is whether the actions taken were legal.
-
Its against US law. Susan Wiles even stated 2 weeks ago that any action on the ground in Venezuela would require congressional approval.

You're arguing with a cult. There is literally nothing Trump can do that cant or wont be justified regardless of how much it opposes views in place prior to Trump. Theres zero independent thought. Its truly a cult.
-
Yeah, sort of. You participate in the upside between stock price and strike price in the premium received upfront but you also take a lot more downside risk in that you are much more likely to be put the stock (or pay to close it). Either way, youre playing to keep the premium.
-
I think its equally true for both OTM and ITM its just a question of premium amount. If youre selling ITM puts youre getting more premium but still exposed to unlimited downside and are much more likely to get it put to you at a higher price.
-
In this case it is as risky as owning the stock (you are taking all the downside risk less the option premium) but you've given up the upside. So you could argue its riskier because you have unlimited downside (unlimited until zero) but limited upside.
-
Its the same as buying the stock on the downside but you give up all the upside of buying the stock in exchange for a guaranteed premium amount.
-
Repurchasing your put could cost you a fortune depending upon the put you sold and how far the stock dropped.

Every single thing done has made him look guiltier and guiltier. This story was largely off the radar screen until Trump made it grow by saying he'd release the files. Then made it 10x bigger and worse.by reversing course. Then Bondi made it worse with the whole stunt of having influencers holding up the books 6 months ago. Then made it worse by saying the files were on her desk. Then made it worse by delaying the vote as long as legally possible. Then made it worse by dripping it out day after day. Then made it worse by redacting stuff that shouldnt have been redacted. Then made it worse by lying and saying he'd never been on Epsteins plane. It just goes on and on. If you want to blame anyone for making this a bigger story than it otherwise would have been its Trump.
-
Have they been explored? You literally were just talking about how previous administrations didnt do anything. Now youre suggesting they thoroughly went thru everything. Either way, the only way to get thru it is to fully release everything. Its too late to go back now. And the complete incompetence of the administration now has made it even worse. Remember Mike Johnson saying Trump was in there as an undercover informant for the government?
-
I'd argue that if there's no conspiracy and Trump is innocent the best way to prove that is to release everything. Fighting tooth and nail to prevent it not only goes against the explicit campaign promise but it also goes against like 80% of the public (including Republicans) while making Trump look even more guilty for fighting it. Its too late to put the toothpaste back in the tube and do this under the radar. And isnt that what everyone is complaining happened over the past 10 years with no result?
-
Its not like any other campaign promise that gets forgotten later, its that he campaigned on the release and openness and then immediately fought hard to do the exact opposite despite it being the one issue that everyone seems to agree upon (except on this board apparently). The Epstein obsession is because it involves sex, children, rich and powerful people, cover ups, conspiracies, suicides, royalty and now the President of the country. It is everything the public obsesses about in one story.
