Valuearb, thanks for the post, what is a realistic short a percentage of the current float? last time I checked yahoo finance it showed 29 percent but that doesn’t sound accurate as you argue in your post. so maybe range bound in the 20’s is possible for several weeks as you indicate long and short could be frustrated?

When do you think the company willbe finished with the 75 million shares? Maybe Monday, June 17th?

Makes sense, buy a ton of options then announce his return. same as Ackman did a few years ago as someone pointed out. for the people that hate him I hope they also hate ackman and all the other managers that do the same.

I don’t know how much his wife makes but I’ve read his wife works for Goldman. valid points though as I also read he paid over 7 million for a mansion. maybe he bought call options on nvidia or something else? crypto could definitely also be a factor. he must have some very loyal friends as I’m surprised there haven’t been any quotes from people close to him about anything really over the past 3 years.

He should have bought a sports team or something like Mark Cuban. His company just had audio for sports games so extreme luck got him to billionaire status but he went out and bought the mavericks and now he is respected.

I don’t think he has mental health issues. i watched most of his videos from 3 years ago and he does a great job of him portraying himself as a blue collar guy that doesn’t know much about finance but he is actually a bright guy with a CFA charter and does a lot of analysis. that has to be touch to watch losing several hundred million while doing a livestream. i actually think he looked like the same Keith from 3 years ago and he didn’t expect the stock to sink. he also might be very bored and missed doing the livestreams from 3 years ago and might not have a lot to do anymore since he is no longer working (which he doesn’t need to due to his net worth, of course.)

You can say a lot of things about Elon but the man’s intellect is in the top 100 people in the world and when you combine that with his work ethic you get magic. ill never forget watching him taking to MIT students and a student told him about a problem he was having with his research project, it has been several years since I’ve seen the video but so I have forgot the question but I remember Elon asked him only one question, “what is the diameter?’ the student gave him the answer and it took Elon about a two second pause and then told him why he was wrong and gave him the math to prove it and how to correct it. you don’t see people like that very often in this world.

Management definitely stole his thunder by releasing earnings early and issuing another 75 million shares, I wonder if it would have gone up from the 67 in after hours if management didn’t do those two things. he should have just released the livestream instead of telling everyone a few days in advance. amazing he didn’t sell any of his position, he also corrected Andrew Leflt’s assertion that he is working with others. this thing is so crazy can’t rule out one last pop next week until it goes down for good.

I’m rooting for roaring kitty, the guy use to be a compliance officer, he hasn’t done anything illegal in my opinion. The entire cnbc program lineup is the same exact thing and so many financial web sites do the same thing,and the guy has tons of legal disclaimers. 53k into one billion (last night in after hours) ‘get your popcorn out and have some fun! to quote a Roman slave, “are you not entertained?”

Ugh, I’m having issues with the quote button, but you are right two cities, it would be idiotic to short at,any price which is why I’ve never shorted but I regretted not buying puts ahead of Cracker Barrel slashing their dividend. there is a reason chanos closed everything down as shorting is a horrible strategy and, of course, Melvin Capital also lost billions.

Andrew Left said he covered his short and put on a new one when it was in the 20’s. we could see 60 tomorrow . what the hell is Andrew left thinking? if he shorted at 60 that is one thing but at 23 or whatever, what a moron!

Ever since I read Charlie’s quote how they should have made a lot of money on pharma, but of course they didn’t, I’ve been thinking of some good pharma etfs until I can do the work to find individual companies. i would appreciate any ideas from the board.

Buffett didn’t mention the gates foundation with the most recent shares given to his children, also, Gates of course isn’t on the Berkshire board anymore (I don’t recall the year he resigned) and didn’t even attend the annual meeting in Omaha last year, at least not that I’m aware.
