At first, though terrible for Pachioretty, I didnt think Chara meant to hit him.
I watched it quite a few times after that first thought and still felt the same way. THEN i saw an angle that appeared to show Chara pushing Pach into the stantion. At this point I thought maybe he did mean it. But then again, not too long after I saw the same clip in real time and it appeared Chara was just trying to use his arm to stop Pach from getting by him - the slow mo actually made it look like he was pushing him when in fact the reg speed you realize Pach was going to fast for him to be able to push him. So now Im back to this ??? stage in my thinking.

it shows up when the market is way over valued ;D

There are more salesmen than money managers out there- and here is proof.

Hey Myth,
I like your posts but you are putting words in peoples mouths (er, words in their posts ;)) which were not there.
The original poster never wrote anything about what cash flow he is looking for or others are not saying anything about what % the "market" will go down etc etc.
Just that everyone values their investments differently - some using Macro to make it easier etc etc.
That is all - I just wanted to point that out because it urks me, for instance, when some assume something between the lines that is no there.
Carry on, and thanks for your posts. :)

I'm actually betting that the Canadian RE bubble will burst (or at least significantly deflate) in the next few years by staying a renter instead of buying.
Id never thought id say this but that thought has crossed my mind.
A listing of a home near by here is going for some insane amt (relatively speaking) and Im thinking, man, i could use that $ to increase my float and then most likely buy back a few years down the road.
Still is speculative considering not knowing how long this bubble can stay afloat.

I like Pittsburgh.. YES Pittsburgh.. they really love their hockey and gave me mad respect when i was their with my Leafs Jersey on.
I was told if i wore it in Philly I would have eggs on it.
Smazz, if you had eggs on your Leaf's jersey in Philly, would it mean they were rude...or they just have taste! ;D Cheers!
Good Question,
but as long as it came as a Spanish or Western Omelette I would just eat it. :P

But before Pittsburgh, San Fran. Both Cities hugely underated by the masses.

This is not so much an opinion but an honest question:
Does anyone else notice/get the feeling that things which are happening currently both economic and geopolitical would almost always (in the past) have a huge impact on the equity/bond markets yet currently they are not?
As I said, this is just a question, i guess of perception - but its what I feel right now.
Anyone else?
Do you mean, for example, the unrest in the Middle east/North Africa, and gold doing little and the S & P rises when in the past gold would be way up and the markets way down? Nope, didn't notice that at all..... :D
cheers
Zorro
Makes you really wonder who is behind the curtain pulling the strings.

Salami,
Ive been in the deflation/stagflation camp for some years now - hence why im usually top heavy in cash :P
Cash is okay during deflation, but hard assets are better during inflation are they not? And just for arguments sake (in a friendly kind of way) isn't Ben's goal in life to print enough cash to cause hyper-inflation...er inflation?
cheers
Zorro
yes, but when they have to try sooooooooo hard to create a synthetic inflationary situation, Im not to eager to be in the vortex.
I pick my spots very very carefully now.
I know the old 'dont fight the fed' mantra but im just not comfortable being in bed with them right now. IMO, all the printing of $ in the world wont do a hell of alot - except short term inflation with prolonged deflation/stagflation -just robbing Peter to give to Paul. Look at japan and their perpetual low interest rates. Different methods but somewhat similar objectives.
Edit: I forgot to mention its CAD$ ;) So, theres a bit of a hedge there too.

I for one am wondering where all these dictators are going to seek asylum if Saudi Arabia starts to have issues.
Switzerland
France
Venezuela
Zimbabwe
Belarus
North Korea
You forgot Cuba - can get flights real cheap! :D

I thank you for doing this.
To biggy back on what Al said above - alot of interesting people from earlier who knew more than I yet were humble enough to pass on information.
Through Hedges, Runoffs, Catastrophes and more - I thank you Sanj and all!

smazz - good one. I left that wide open.
I think only Matt Cooke will bring a weapon though.
lol,
hey, I want to try to make it down to Jersey to catch a Leaf game when they play Devils... looks like there are always empty seats.
Me and a buddy try to make a road trip/yr. We went to the New Penguins arena earlier - Leafs/Pens.

What I'm hearing is that the Canadians are a violent bunch and the enforcement of US sports such as the NBA MLB and NFL is required to straighten things out.
you mean maybe the players should start bring guns into the locker rooms? :o

All I will say is there are probably some pretty good salesmen out there pulling out some really well made graphic charts showing a line from about 2008/2009 till now.
In addition to the many points you highlighted, I cannot for a second believe we are not going to see personal debt level rising radically again.

Turn around and find something else that sells for $0.20 or $0.50, rinse and repeat.
but dont forget to tell your friends about it when you do ;)
Congrats on the job well done.
Dont worry if you are left holding Diamonds or Pearls.

Alrighty then.. I mean not anywhere close to the Techbubble (44.20 Dec 1999)
but hey, ;D
Correction - I think i had a screw up in my spreadsheet.

Am I the only one who probably feels the worst (except for the player that was injured/sucker punched) for Goddard?
Shit he is probably the lowest paid guy on the team and he has to jump the bench knowing he is going to get suspended for 10 games pay to defend his goalie.
The sad part for him is his goalie was already getting the better of that minor leaguer anyway.

Interesting you brought up mining - though prob not exactly what you referring to but lets talk about GOLD.
Are (they) kidding me? HOW THE F$$$ Do you value gold? Seriously, who in their right mind would buy into Gold at $1000.
A friend of mine called me last week asking for some advice. Mentioned he made 40% in gold. In all fairness to him he wasnt bragging he's not one of those types. I asked him "what made you buy gold?"
Long story short he asked if i thought it was overvalued. I wanted to say "i would tell you if you could tell me how to value it".
He said "do you think its overvalued?" I said "it was probably over valued when before you bought it" ;D
Lets let the CSI guys make $ from here.

I would just like to know where all this optimism in the markets is coming from.
I think Prem said it best a while back - something like, and im paraphrasing "we'll let the smarter people make the $ from here"

Wow,

Now lets talk about this Pheonex situation!
Is that crazy or what? Funny how Bettman is calling out the Goldwater group when he has operated under worse methods than them for years!
