And the rate of decrease for the 40-54 crowd, yikes.

Yes, but US retail is largely absent from those markets. Imagine the Friday late night trading volatility from the WSB crowds coming home from the bars. Pure beauty.
-
Volatility will be wild.

Even with recent developments it seems several years from real world application. I can't help but feel this is the latest extension of the tech rally in its final throes. What started with Mag7 ends with small cap fantasy tech.

Game theory in action.

Key point: Ripple Labs equity =/= XRP token

Skynet has become self aware

Unironically this, probably outpace anything else in the next few years sadly.

Lightning is more anonymous than the main BTC chain. LN nodes can only see where the payment is coming from and going to on its multi-hop journey to the ultimate recipient. Spin up a LN node yourself and open a channel with the payment recipient for even more security, but that's likely more than @Luke wanted to get involved with for now.

Use Strike, much lower fees https://strike.me/blog/announcing-strike-uk/

I think the finance types carry a lot more cultural influence than we give them credit for. That pivot will accelerate when financial journalists/media really get onboard with bitcoin.

I think price targets are difficult, but timeframe might be easier. Looking at 4Q 2025 for a top. I’m not selling BTC but plan on cleaning out the old altcoins I still have floating around.

IBIT options start trading tomorrow. Will this be good/bad/ugly for BTC? Will retail turn this into a GME part 2?

It is interesting to have seen the “store of value” challengers to BTC in previous cycles all fail to break into that segment of the crypto market, but as you stated when it comes to the smart contract competitors ETH was the first mover but suffered as competitors made further sacrifices in security and decentralization in exchange for gains in transaction speed.

https://stacker.news/items/303469 Additionally, what was the core business of the automobile vs all the other things we do with it now. Yes it still gets us from A to B, but we eat in it, consume media in it, sleep in it, etc etc. Original design vs actual use can be very different

Take a morning walk outside for 30-60mins. No phones, no podcasts. Just time to reflect, enjoy nature, and get some exercise. It is a luxury that I truly enjoy.

Quantum has been getting a lot of press lately even though we're a decade away from anything scalable. Might be worth watching some small players in the space

The contrarian in me wants to load up on TLT after all these high profile interviews talking about shorting/zero exposure to bonds.

Why not run stablecoins on BTC/LN or similar L2 setup?

Shortly after Obama started his term there was a campaign launched by Michelle Obama that was focused on eating healthy and avoiding sugar. It lasted a few days and then there was quickly a pivot towards "Let's Move" which turned into a focus on exercise. I don't think there is any appetite (ha!) to truly address food concerns from any level of regulator.

A lot of the ETH hopium about it becoming the world supercomputer and onboarding huge corporations never made sense to me either. What respectable company is going to give up control of their platform in order to run it on ETH (or Solana or any other similar)? It is a speculative platform for retail to create meme tokens and outright scams. Blockchain Trilemma: Security, Scalability, Decentralization. Pick two. ETH, SOL, and others make sacrifices on all three and don't do any of them particularly well. BTC focuses on Security and Decentralization with the scalability (speed) as a sacrifice for the base layer.

Bingo. Centralization is only ok when it is the government as the central agency controlling money.

What supply are you speaking of that is still frozen due to bankruptcy? I thought MtGox was already in the process of being distributed, if not already done.

Air traffic control is such an incredible mess in the US. I can’t imagine now we’re going to stuff hundreds of eVTOLs into the NYC airspace system so everyone can hop around the city. I just don’t see this as real profitable tech anytime soon.
