  1. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-11-28/charles-munger-who-helped-buffett-build-berkshire-dies-at-99 How much knowledge we gained from him, and how much more left we will never receive! Happy for his long wonderful life, but very sad he's gone. Cheers Charlie!
  2. No conflict. The obvious answer is to own FFH, which benefits from Fairfax India or Africa. That's what I did...sold any India I owned and switched it all to FFH. I then have the Indian exposure and still benefit from the fees. The funds are really meant for retail clients or FFH shareholders who want additional exposure to those regions. Cheers!
  3. Real estate listings supply is also increasing in Vancouver with prices flat or starting to decrease. We're seeing increased volume on assignments of pre-built condo contracts. Car prices are falling here in Vancouver, but only a few dealers have offered lower interest rates on the loans. The rates have come down for leases of new cars (you can find offers in the 2.99-4.99% range, but used car financing remains expensive in the 7-9% range. Like I said last week...grocery prices are starting to come down. We've also seen 4 consecutive weeks of falling gas prices. Plenty of deals were offered on Black Friday and Cyber Monday...stores were relatively busy. Cheers!
  4. I was referencing the cartoon, which suggested that Bernanke was dropping money from a helicopter, and was defending his actions. Cheers!

  7. Shoppers are spending money this year so far! Cheers! https://finance.yahoo.com/news/energized-shoppers-break-one-day-190741866.html
  8. Bernanke's helicopter windfall was necessary to avoid a global meltdown and a possible collapse of the entire financial system. Trump and Biden's helicopter windfalls (and you can include Trudeau and most European countries) weren't as necessary. Cheers!

  10. From developer losses to the trickle down effect...can China stem all these losses and absorb them? https://www.cnn.com/2023/11/23/business/zhongzhi-enterprise-group-china-insolvent-hnk-intl/index.html Cheers!
  11. LOL! Although the flavor profiles are a bit different. Cheers!
  12. I started with the Beatles and Rolling Stones when I was 10, slowly drifted into 60's classic rock, 70's punk rock (also forgot the Ramones), then came the 80's with U2, New Order, Depeche Mode, The Cult, etc, 90's were Grunge mixed with some Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Oasis, Blur and as a good old Canadian boy...the Tragically Hip and 54-40, early 2000's were a little more barren other than The White Stripes, and the 2010's dominated by The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Metric, et al. I listen to all sorts of music, but the primary streak seems to remain Hard Rock. If you listen to "Spin the Black Circle" on Pearl Jam's "Vitalogy"...arguably one of the best grunge albums ever produced along side Nirvana's "Nevermind" and "In Utero"...you can hear the punk rock influence on Eddie Vedder and the band. You'll think your inside a mosh pit! Ohhh, to be young again! Cheers!
  13. My bad! Yes, these look like they were from the 50th Anniversary. On another note, if you do not have the 50th Anniversary book, here is the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/185860708853 Cheers!
  14. You know, it's all a derivative of punk rock. I grew up on The Clash, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys, etc. Metal, grunge, black metal, etc...all came from punk rock. Cheers!
  15. Yup! Can be quite the bitch as well! Cheers!
  16. Actually my statement was correct...those peace treaties and the Abraham Accords were pushed by the U.S. On paper they have peace...but if push comes to shove, they will not support Israel unless there are repercussions from the West. Cheers!
  17. No doubt. But they want Hamas gone too, and I don't think the majority are against Bibi on this issue. Cheers!

  20. No idea how exactly they calculated this, but those jets, yachts and certain companies aren't good for the environment. Kind of like how Leo and Bono fight against global warning but sit on gas guzzling yachts all summer! Cheers! https://www.yahoo.com/news/worlds-richest-1-emit-much-215000375.html

  22. Again, I don't see the logic here. How can you replace Russia with Israel? Israel is Ukraine if anything in this! A more apt comparison would be that Israel is the United States. Hamas is Al Qaida. Palestine is Afghanistan and Iraq. Cheers!
  23. And have a safe one as well! Cheers!
  24. Yeah, Hamas fires rockets into Israel like a kid playing with fireworks...gleefully, relentlessly until the money is spent. Constant barrages, drone attacks, always looking for a weak spot to maim and kill Israelis. That's what they did this time with the paragliders. Can you imagine living with that in Canada or the United States? The U.S. is exhausted of peaceful, illegal immigrants...what would happen if there were barrages of rockets every month fired on different parts of the U.S.? Canadians have never experienced such a thing since the FLQ in the 70's and that was like a mini, unorganized IRA. Nothing like what Israel goes through daily! Cheers!
  25. Yup, I agree with you on all of this. But the Arab states are going to be against Israel no matter what...unless they are sanctioned and pushed by the West and the rest of the world. And those Arab states not siding with Hamas are playing the Swiss card (neutral). Cheers!
