  4. Thanks for posting the letter! You've been a great inspiration to me and have helped encourage me on my path of investing. Thanks for setting a great example of doing things the right way and with a long term focus. It's been great watching you interact with partners, message board members, investors and others in the field. A great learning experience!

  6. I enjoy going to WF for their pizza. They have high end pizza freshly made and a great deal for two slices at $5. It might seem pricey to some, but they use really good ingredients.

  10. Haven't had too much time to follow the discussion here, but I checked the 2009 Zenith National AR and it has details on historical loss ratios that might be helpful. There is detail in Stanley Zax's letter on the loss ratio. Morningstar has the 2009 AR archived. The link is below. http://quicktake.morningstar.com/stocknet/secdocuments.aspx?symbol=znt
  11. Awesome article! Thanks for posting. I like the anecdotes on Ted and Todd. I am going to start tracking how much I read on a daily basis. I wish I could read 500 to 600 pages a day!

  23. Didn't know that, so I did some digging and here are some articles in regards to the bond purchase and a letter Buffett wrote to Bezos praising him for expensing stock options. It looks like the bonds were bought at Geico. "Buffett praises Amazon, then buys its debt" http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2003-04-12/business/0304120174_1_junk-bonds-warren-buffett-berkshire-hathaway "Warren Buffett Puts His Money Where His Mouth Is" http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2003-04-08/business/0304070608_1_berkshire-hathaway-warren-buffett-amazon-com
  24. http://news.yahoo.com/wells-fargo-boss-talks-bank-174027047.html —Warren Buffett is your biggest shareholder. (His conglomerate, Berkshire Hathaway, holds an 8 percent stake in Wells, about $14 billion worth, according to financial data provider FactSet.) Tell us about that. He reads everything. One time I talked to him on a Monday, we'd put out our 10-Q (a quarterly financial report) on a Friday, and he said he spent all day Saturday reading it cover to cover. I said, 'Warren, you do that often?' He said, 'Oh, I love Q's.' He was asking me about some esoteric asset — I was blown away. Interesting stuff! Thanks for the link!
