  3. +1 I have not done this, but have visited Yad Vashem in Israel.. Can’t describe in words. https://www.yadvashem.org as for solutions to the current Gazan war I still think Tom Friedman has the best perspective on what’s going on , consequences and solutions https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/tom-friedman-will-israels-war-ever-end/id1762898126?i=1000710403406 one can feel deepest sympathy for the Palestinian civilians ( also Syrians under Assad for example)… deepest sympathy for the Israel citizens and the horrific events of Oct 7 and aftermath…and despise both Hamas and the current Israeli government and right wing extremism that is currently in power…

  10. My bad … I did research but was researching nuclear research reactors and saw the vast majority have been decommissioned in Germany https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_nuclear_research_reactors In his conversation with Eisman , Wolfgang mentioned there used to be an abundance of nuclear research facilities, and then he extrapolated and said there was only three people researching nuclear sciences. His main point being there’s not enough energy being produced in Germany for any type of AI research . What peaked my interest was that of the 3 or 4 operational research facilities listed in Germany a couple of have listed 0 kW of production. And that is a question for a buddy of mine’s daughter who’s getting a post doctorate in nuclear fusion.
  11. “It was a big industry. Today there are only three professors in Germany who research in nuclear sciences. Wow. Three. There are 150 professors in gender studies in Germany.” From The Eisman Playbook: Kaput! Dissecting Europe’s Economic Struggles with author Wolfgang Münchau, Apr 21, 2025 https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/kaput-dissecting-europes-economic-struggles-with/id1806975494?i=1000704322325&r=2513 The above quote is talking about the nuclear energy industry in Germany. It’s hilarious if it wasn’t so sad. Excellent podcast on the trials and tribulations of Germany and Europe

  13. From my reading, Martin touched on, lack of technology, advancement innovation, regulations, and said that eastern Asia, with the exception of Japan recently was undergoing something similar. It seems he was able to talk about the US due to it reserve status massive depth spending Etc. I’m sure he could’ve opined much more on British and European economic faults, but the vast majority of the interview was purposely US centric. Perhaps this will help https://www.ft.com/content/3e504036-e9ee-4757-baf9-47fdccbf340c Transcript: Martin Wolf on the UK economy: ‘Why I’m worried’ hopefully not behind a wall

  21. G… for mortal investors like me; I just think that whether you like or dislike Trump is immaterial… There seems to be change in the air and caution is warranted…. It is interesting to follow both the doomers with their fearless rebranding leadership of AOC Sanders and Newsom.and theMAGAs …. What ever happened to good old moderate/ moderate conservative corrupt politicians? Haha
  22. I respectfully have to disagree….1) I respect all opinions on this board even yours G’s and Cubsfan as well as many others…2) a lot of what’s been posted since the election is opinion and , to paraphrase Howard Marks, we don’t know what is going to happen. 3) reading the various opinions has helped me navigate the current investing environment… I am essentially flat for the year with 40% cash.. I could be very wrong but I am confident. Hopefully all will continue to post their opinions with respect .. To paraphrase the Macy’s expert.. Cheers

  25. But don’t these “golden oldies“ realize that changes are getting ready to hit them in the ass? I know all my old friends down. Here are realizing that changes rapidly happening and they’re gonna have to adapt… It’s just not the way it was. And this is irregardless of whatever political persuasion you are.
