Parsad Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Short, funny article on Berkshire's director fees and how Buffett repays Berkshire for any personal use expenses. And over at Sandridge you had a CEO running his personal accounting through the company for free. Cheers! http://blogs.wsj.com/deals/2013/03/15/warren-buffett-pays-bill-gates-1800/?mod=yahoo_hs
JBird Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Anyone find the proxy statement that mentions this $50,000 check Buffett wrote?
Hielko Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Here: http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1067983/000119312513109017/d467360ddef14a.htm Mr. Buffett will on occasion utilize Berkshire personnel and/or have Berkshire pay for minor items such as postage or phone calls that are personal. Mr. Buffett reimburses Berkshire for these costs by making an annual payment to Berkshire in an amount that is equal to or greater than the costs that Berkshire has incurred on his behalf. During 2012, Mr. Buffett reimbursed Berkshire $50,000.
beerbaron Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Incredible ethics, no wonder why ethical people want to work for him. BeerBaron
Zorrofan Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Incredible ethics, no wonder why ethical people want to work for him. BeerBaron Sadly, few CEO's follow WEB's example and far too many follow TW's........it will be a sad day when WEB now longer runs BRK. Cheers, Zorro
Mephistopheles Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Ethical indeed. I think Buffett and the board should reduce their salaries/fees to $0. It wouldn't make a difference to them, but it would make for an astonishing story.
