Parsad Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Probably a good idea, and I think it may catch on with other hotel chains. Cheers! http://www.cnn.com/2012/05/31/travel/best-western-hotel-cleaning/index.html?hpt=hp_t2
bargainman Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Yeah something tells me they won't get things *that* clean with UV wands: http://www.guardiantechnologies.com/LW18-UVC-Sanitizer-Wand-Details.html Under the "How it works" tab: "Disinfection of items or surfaces can generally be achieved by holding the UV-C Sanitizer Wand over an object or surface for 20 seconds at a distance of approximately 1-2 inches." I doubt they'll be going over everything at a distance of 1-2 inches for 20 seconds each!
Parsad Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 This thread reminds me of a scene from The Office: Did Michael and Dwight still sleep in that bed? ;D Cheers!

I concur, Uv has been used for decades in health care settings such as dialysis rooms, where it is turned on all night. Also used in water treatment. Wands are in use for backcountry water treatment. In that case the camper is motivated to do it properly. I dont see hotel cleaners doing a good job (in general). 20 seconds is a long time to wait when you have a quota.
