ERICOPOLY Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 random motion. the warrants are comparatively illiquid. on a given day, I believe there is a lot of back and forth between aig and warrants to establish a tax loss. I think it's a good idea. You can't get a tax loss from going back and forth between stock and options. It falls under the wash sale rules. Where did you hear that you can do it between stock and warrants?
merkhet Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Anybody know why this would happen? Illiquidity most likely -- there were two 50K+ share transactions within a very short period of one another that might have sparked the sell off.
