Luke 532 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I'm curious how many documents the government provided to plaintiff lawyers by the April 14th deadline. I'm aware of the unopposed extension granted by Sweeney to review/produce the final 50-60% of documents, but wondering how many, if any, of the 40-50% already reviewed were given to plaintiff lawyers. I would expect Fairholme to file something with the court if nothing had been produced by the deadline. I guess there's no way of knowing at this point.

beaufort Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 https://morningconsult.com/2016/11/29/rep-duffy-tops-list-take-wall-street-subcommittee/ "Like most of his Republican colleagues, Duffy is a critic of the 2010 Dodd-Frank Act, as well as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. In a 2016 op-ed about the film “The Big Short,” he characterized Fannie and Freddie as “the villains Hollywood refused to let you see,” in addition to their “crony, corrupt accomplices in Washington, D.C.”

I can't believe the court spent 10 months to write a ruling with so many factual errors and questions that they only hastily considered.
Desert_Rat Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 What's so hard to believe? The courts trust the govt, except in the case of immigration apparently, but they especially trust the govt and its steps taken to combat world-wide financial catastrophy (otherwise known as Lehman Brothers asset sale). they're all idiots. This country would be 10~ trillion less in debt if they all just calmed for 6 months.

Sunrider Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I wonder if we shouldn't start a company in some state, adopt Delaware law for corporate purposes, re-enact the the nws between know parties, then sue each other in parallel to the current case, get that case resolved fasr (as controlling both sides of arguments so no delays) thereby creating a precedent for the courts to go by ;) Chris - I think you should represent the pro NWS side and merkhet the shareholder side ... I mean you could write for both sides but I'm not sure if the court would see that as too much of taking a mickey. C. FHFA's argument is that HERA provides blanket cover. So even if you do this and set up a precedent, it is not going to work.
Sunrider Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Yup but would make it obvious what the heart of the issue is - if this was the case for any other company there would be no discussion that it is unfair (illegal) taking of property without compensation! I wonder if we shouldn't start a company in some state, adopt Delaware law for corporate purposes, re-enact the the nws between know parties, then sue each other in parallel to the current case, get that case resolved fasr (as controlling both sides of arguments so no delays) thereby creating a precedent for the courts to go by ;) Chris - I think you should represent the pro NWS side and merkhet the shareholder side ... merkhet Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Unfortunately, there are laws preventing these kind of made for litigation cases.
investorG Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 http://video.cnbc.com.ln.is/mnafG funny (or not) how sorkin mentions the hedge funds but not all the community banks, pension funds, and yes the US govt which owns 80pct... legislatively, either the warrants are used to partially fund infrastructure / tax reform or we'll be waiting a long time for action, perhaps not until 2019 -- which would leave the courts and administratively pausing the NWS as the only 2 potential catalysts for 2017.
Desert_Rat Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Gotta be before '19. With DJT's admin unable to accomplish anything except bombing folks, even I'd think about voting the house back to Dem's @ midterms. That would be a vote for no congressional approval on warmongering. If the house is lost that means anything that hadn't been accomplished by then gets stonewalled until 2020 when our present edge may be lost. There may be hope though: http://www.cnbc.com/2017/04/20/conservative-republicans-reportedly-pleased-with-changes-to-health-care-proposal.html

The Democrats right now vote no on every bill no matter what. Why would you want this kind of senseless people in Congress?
