tyska Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 http://investorvillage.com/groups.asp?mb=6781&mn=54889&pt=msg&mid=8830019 I've been looking around this site the past couple of days as it was mentioned by a poster on the Motley fool board. This fellow has posted the TSX insider trade summary for the last two days, probably more than that but I haven't looked back in the posts. But the last two days I've noticed that Fairfax is in the top ten for value of shares bought. Does anyone have any information as to who the insider or insiders are in this case or is it fairfax itself buying back. Nothing shows up on the canadianinsider website. Dan
FFHWatcher Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 I checked Sedi.ca That is the site for the Cdn Securities Administrators and you can find all Canadian public company insider trading reports on this site. It looks like it was just the time of the year where various stock grants, employee share ownership plan purchases, etc. were carried out. Nothing major.

tyska Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 The thousand plus shares for Jan Christiansen weren't showing when I had checked on Canadianinsider last night. I'm mostly curious if this is insider trades for that day that are showing up on that chart . If so then it is still 4000 plus shares short as to the value. How long do insiders have before they have to report. Haven't tried using SEDI in a while, found it quite user unfriendly last time I tried, but may have to give it another try.
FFHWatcher Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 It was a Grant of restricted shares which vest on April 1, 2015. several other insiders received similar, but lower amounts except for Andy Barnard, and those were filed in March 2010. It only seems that Christiansen was in April 2010.
nodnub Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Haven't tried using SEDI in a while, found it quite user unfriendly last time I tried, but may have to give it another try. Sedi.ca is a disaster---it has always been like this. Even once you figure out how to navigate the site it still requires so many damn inputs and mouseclicks to accomplish anything. And they have made no appreciable improvements since I started using it around 2003. A redesign of SEDI website functionality and a National Security Regulator are on my wish list.
beerbaron Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Every week I download the weekly summary because that is the only list that I find understandeable. I once called to get the whole 2008 summary and they wanted charge me 10K :-\ . BeerBaron
