Munger_Disciple Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 (edited) I highly recommend this book to anyone remotely interested in PE. Hooke destroys the BS being peddled by the industry; that PE earns earns outsize returns (relative to public equity) while taking less risk. https://www.amazon.com/Myth-Private-Equity-Transformative-Investments-ebook/dp/B08ZJXHWM7/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=jeffrey+hooke&qid=1634584438&sr=8-1 Edited October 18, 2021 by Munger_Disciple

Munger_Disciple Posted October 18, 2021 Author Posted October 18, 2021 Thanks, I thought he did a great job. He also teaches at Johns Hopkins.
Xerxes Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 I did listened to the podcast on the AcquirerMultiple. Sounded very interesting. Can someone who read the book can confirm if the book offer some historical anecdote about specific P/E companies and/or specific deal (i enjoy reading history), or is it just one those broad strokes at looking at long term return and showcasing that S&P500 did better etc. etc.
dcollon Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Thanks for mentioning this book. Although it was some what basic, it was still a lot of fun to read.
