Asking judges to release transcripts was another deflection at best. He knows that judges would rarely if ever allow it so it looks like he's being transparent with very little risk. And even if the transcripts were permitted they were only going to release "pertinent" sections (as determined by Trump and his puppet Bondi). The files would already include testimony from Maxwell and other victims. That's why Maxwell is sitting in a jail cell. Speculating on whats in the evidence and files to argue whether they should be released is a circular argument. The entire point of releasing them is because we don't know whats in them. But we know that Trump desperately wants to avoid them being released!! And that's despite repeatedly promising to do so and running on a campaign of transparency. What could possibly be in there that Trump sees the current situation as much preferable?

There is absolutely a benefit!!!! Understanding the connection between our President (and others) with a convicted pedophile is extremely important. Hiding it and saying "nothing to see here" or "no good will come of it" is absolutely wrong. And for someone who campaigned on total transparency and the release of these files, it is doubly telling. To choose the shit show going on right now over transparency says there is something even worse for him if they're released.

I have no problem with live witnesses. Although a couple of the relevant parties have committed suicide since Epstein's arrest so their testimony wouldn't be available. I also have no problem with documents, photos, videos, statements or any other type of information that might be there that is obviously scaring the crap out of people with it's release. Yes things can be misinterpreted, just like minutes from videos can be doctored (as in the DOJ's jail video release). But that's not an excuse to not release. This is a convicted pedophile not a shoplifter. That's about as lowlife as it comes. The longer this drags on and the harder they try to avoid releasing the files the guiltier he looks.

And diverting, denying and obfuscating won't make the issue go away. It only makes him look more and more guilty because what's he trying to hide? I get arguments and disagreements on policies and issues but surely connections with a convicted pedophile should be something that everyone can agree should be made public regardless of who gets implicated (from both parties or public life).

The files would not only have the testimony of live witnesses but also all the documents, videos and everything else that was removed from Esptein's homes and office. If there's nothing to see then just release it all!! The only reason not to release the very thing he's promised many times to release is that it implicates him. Why continue to find excuses not to release information on relationships with a convicted pedophile? Especially the same people who were calling to release it for the longest time.

How would you know reaction if they wont actually release anything to react to? The rumors and innuendo are worse for not releasing. At least once everything's out people can move on. But instead of guessing exactly what's there, just release them as promised. If there's nothing negative in there for Trump, release them and lets move past the pedophile relationship. Theres and even simpler way to verify it. Release the files exactly as promised. Instead of leaving it up to people to guess at how connected you were with a convicted pedophile, if there's nothing incriminating, release them!

Thats how the American legal system works. Thats why there are multiple avenues of appeal. Just because Dear Leader lost doesnt mean the entire system is rigged. Why does nobody make the argument when he wins cases?

No that's how the system works all the time. Its doesnt only work when you win. The verdict was upheld under multiple appeals. The guy was guilty. Got found guilty. And now has to pay a lot of money. Thats how it works.
