  1. VIG - Vanguard Dividend Appreciation ETF

Intention is to preserve this year’s trading gains, reduce risk and lower trading velocity of my account by shifting some allocation to VIG as a core largest holding.

Also to have a liquid, more stable source for funds for tax loss selling trade opportunities from October to December.

    Fully agree!

Tomorrow morning, you'll essentially be able to buy a global company, with $120B in revenues, $30B in annual profit, $40B in cash/securities, $9B in debt, buying back $3-6B of shares a quarter, with 3B users worldwide for a single digit P/E!

    Cheers!

At $105 after hours, net of cash, is not much over 2x sales. That seems decent if they can normalize earnings, capex, and margins over long term.

I agree, be cautious. But do so in a way where you leave yourself in the game. Where you can win even in the caution isnt warranted.

Here's Hussman...check out the long term record.

I feel grateful for having had success trading this year, AND, this week I’m feeling exhausted from the last 18 months of grinding out equity trades/investments.

I wonder about just going to mostly cash and doing strategic options trades with 5-10% of the account, as a way to stay in the game but not risk the 90-95% of the account to a bursting bubble.

Closed out the PTON trade. Got the expected follow through and the options are now basically at the money so time to call it a day.

Congratulations on a great trade. Was researching PTON and saw it was rated as #1 brand. Above Apple, NetfIix, Costco, Chick-Fil-A, etc. I’m tempted to go long here.

Gregmal, I am going to upgrade your hero from politically motivated idiot to mentally unstable. I guess your logic is he had some good trades, so just assume he'll have some more. My logic says don't trust the stock picks of someone who lives in a fantasy world.

In current climes it is, intentionally or not, probably an effective marketing strategy for gaining lots of followers. IMO Kuppy lives in a rich Miami bro bubble AND he’s a skilled stock picker.

Haha appreciate the kind words. I personally don’t consider myself to be all that good of an investor. Too much ADD. Why wait for 10% annualized returns when every day or week or month there’s stuff doing those types of numbers? Really I just try to make money. As fast and as risk adjustedly reasonable as possible.

I am exceptionally good at two things; recognizing patterns and processing a lot of shit real quick and getting out of it what I need to make a quick decision. Specifically with qualitative shit like narratives and risks that either seem to be present/warranted but aren’t or vice versa.

But there are significantly better investors than I out there, for sure. I try not to wear a badge one way or the other. Be what you gotta be to make the money.

Do you feel like volatility has increased in individual equities compared to 5 or 10 years ago? I feel like it has significantly. But maybe there are stats on that somewhere.

I'm willing to bet that you're a better investor than he is. I also think that you're far less likely to blow up. Just my mostly worthless thoughts though. 😉

Well here’s Kuppy’s latest thinking out of the box 🤔

It is interesting, do not own it, but I follow them to see how everything plays out. However I am not sure what kind of business eventually (and advantages over others) they whould have, even if beeing right/aprooved/accepted soon?

I think the plan is a combo of first to market w/FDA approval, anticipated patent on a specific formulation, and patents on specific indications for use.

  9. I’ll add healthcare, in the vein of what Hemant Taneja is working on at General Catalyst.

Then a subset of that is mental health.

And a part of that is psychedelics for therapeutic use. I’m on the West coast and innovators in the therapeutic scene are pivoting towards integrating psychedelic therapeutics. Anyone own CMPS?

I think the plan is "help the nerd monetize the data and two-sided network" as was the case with Google and Facebook.

    Ha.

The fanboys think she’s going to make it a fintech, by moving into payments. But she threw cold water on that in a Tweet response and said it was an e-commerce company not a fintech.

There was a time when everyone hated SNAP’s business prospects. So I’m wondering if WISH can pull off a transformation. Plenty of cash and they’re pulling way back on ad spend. Which is probably Reses’ counsel. New CFO is next move. If GME can moon from just ex Amazon hires. Maybe WISH can do a similar but less dramatic org shift.
