  1. Broken Markets: Notes From The Trenches Of Market Turbulence https://www.forbes.com/sites/vineerbhansali/2020/03/12/notes-from-the-trenches-of-market-turbulence/#245c43bb53e6 https://www.amazon.com/Vineer-Bhansali/e/B003E3FZFK?ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1&qid=1584226737&sr=8-1
  2. I hope history doesn't repeat or get worse:
  3. Sold all my positions except one BIG short position.
  4. I have to pass. There is nothing wrong with the company. You can't short a company based on valuation. You can but I wouldn't. It's a easy PASS.
  5. Shorting is not trading - It is a concentrated investment for me 8) It's hard to do because we don't have a long threads on this topic compare to easy threads like buying/selling. Trust me there are some many threads already 8) What's the harm in having one more 8) The Admins can delete it if I don't add value 8) Lastly, you can just do a PASS on this conversations if it doesn't interest you. As I'm typing this: Icahn has a big short position. Shorting is important and healthy to Mr. Market.
  6. Try shorting full-time for yourself and you will understand that it is different from buy/sell thread 8)
  7. I have to disagree. Shorting takes a different kind of skill sets, experiences and time. Usually, one would do these 3 things: 1) Buy ==== which is the most easy to do 2) Sell ==== which is the most difficult to do 3) Pass === which is the most hardest to do. Just try to sit on your butt for 12 years like Munger Shorting is a different ball game. It stretch your minds to think differently about a business. It's a way to invert your bull cases. Also, your time frame is against you and your loss is infinite. It is a harder game to play but a great tool to improve you as an investor.
  8. Who cares about numbers. No one will ever know. Just look at all past cases over 10,000 years. Go out and enjoy your life 8)
  9. I don't want to make any comparisons but humanity are in good hands: The very best are working on the problem. FYI: 32.0 million [23.6 million–43.8 million] people have died from AIDS-related illnesses since the start of the epidemic Known coronavirus death today is 5,003 === https://ncov2019.live/data Go out and Enjoy your life 8)
  10. Cash is roughly 30%. I have various accounts to, I don’t keep track of it too closely. I was at 50% when I went bananas selling more than aweigh about, but then bought back too early. Should have just sat it out. I am Down less than 20% from the peak, but it it feels bad enough. The stock sales are clearly liquidity & index selling driven, so my thesis is that there will be amazing bargains available at some point. Look at 100 years of copper prices to get some clues.
  11. Quick Question: If you are shorting anything in size what is it? I'm betting BIG on one short position.....
  12. God it's tempting.... Are you willing to sell all your holdings and wait for the bottom to put all your net worth into FRFHF?
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if Simon's renaissance is a huge part of this volatility. I've been wondering about Renaissance, seems like they own every company down to the tiny stuff. Don't worry about Renaissance. They spent over $4+ billions in hardware, software & PHD to beat the market. Just focus on what you can do in this game.
  14. I want to see who is really afraid in general - it can be about anything? I'm not 8) I'm buying hand over fist.
