Gio, I have so enjoyed this book. Thanks again for the recommendation. One of my favorite quotes, among so many was right after the crash of 1929. Mr. Baker was never willing to sell and this was said: "Mr. Baker, wouldn't it have been wonderful if you had sold out in 1929. With cash, you could now buy back twice as much.' The Old Man replied: 'Frank, if I had started selling things, I would have lost my position years ago. You see, you never know when you've reached the the top.' 'But, Mr. Baker you know more about these swings than anybody else.' 'No, Frank, you can't know, because EVERY TIME IS DIFFERENT.'" Later in a conversation Mr. Baker was mentioned saying, "I was a damn fool." referring to his having held on. Things to ponder. I love history.

Fed to release bank stress-test results on 20-Mar Tuesday, February 25, 2014 The Federal Reserve Board announced that results from the latest supervisory stress tests conducted as part of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act will be released on Thursday, 20-Mar, and the related results from the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review, or CCAR, will be released on Wednesday, 26-Mar. Results will be released for both exercises at 16:00 ET.

The great thing about Franklin's writings is that a lot of them are free or very inexpensive on Amazon.

Gio, I'm about half way through this book and I am really enjoying it. Thanks again for mentioning it. I will have to go back and look at the House of Morgan (chernow) that I read, because I want to see if Mr. Baker is mentioned in that book and I just don't remember.

Packer you are nicer person that I am :D I can tell you if I'm giving a presentation to clients and discussing my best idea I don't have to look at notes (this in no way means I'm right). But then again Ms./Mrs. Witmer has a fantastic track record and is much smarter and wealthier than I am.

It was also interesting that she had to look at a piece of paper to give a range for what she thought the company might earn and what they were worth. I would think if it was your best idea you would have that pretty clear in your mind.
