2014 FFH Shareholder's Dinner - Less Than 25 Tickets Left!
Buffett_Groupie replied to Parsad's topic in Fairfax Financial
Hi, Gio: I'll buy the ticket from you as my friend is unable to find the link to purchase the ticket on http://www.cornerofberkshireandfairfax.ca/. I can no longer find it either. Can you please email me the confirmation of your ticket purchase? Thanks, Alan -
Benny: The advice given is excellent. I wish my teenage kids can be as open-minded as you to seek advice from this board. If you look for fairness, be your own boss :). Only then will you learn to appreciate the beauty of a steady pay-cheque, paid vacation and benefits!

My friend asked me not to post it. Well, we'll see him next month anyhow!

Charlie is very healthy as I have a picture of him with my friend celebrating his 90th birthday. The delay may be due to the postponment of 10-K audit: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-12-31/munger-s-daily-journal-misses-second-reporting-deadline.html?cmpid=yhoo

Meet The Man Who Has Worked At Goldman For 80 Years

Perhaps that's one of the reasons Buffett and Munger don't want to retire, or at least announce the retirement! -
Please do your shopping at http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=JCP to help revive this American retail icon! LOL :-)

Been doing so for the last 15 years after getting first 200 shares at $498 in 1998. Thus, may well be more tempered and patient than anyone on this board! 8)

The positive must have a heavier weighting than all the negatives! Have a good weekend, everyone, I know I will, just by staring it (http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=ffh.to&ql=1) all day long! LOL ;D

And this is just the warm-up as the race to $900 hasn't started yet: http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=IRE+Interactive#symbol=IRE;range=my ! LOL :-)

Despite the hedges working against it and BB's cloud overhead, the multi-year high must be a result of the investment in Bank of Ireland which is a 3-bagger, right? :-)

Here is a good one, short and yet full of priceless and timeless insight and advice: http://www.coca-colacompany.com/stories/i-like-to-bet-on-sure-things-warren-buffett-on-why-hell-never-sell-a-share-of-coke-stock -
Buffett_Groupie,... You seem to be a financial doctor... ;D But seriously,... somehow I sense that Prem's son, Benjamin seems to be a little more interested in economics and finance than the Buffett boys... Peter and Howard. I might be wrong on my gut feeling, but I also know he seems to be unknown to most of us, and therefor there might be some unexpected surprises. Prem was also considered reclusive some decade ago, so this should apply even more currently to his son. Staying physically healthy is more important than anything else including intelligence, talent, temperament and wealth. Stress and overwhelming workload/responsibilities will result in poor health. I'm sure Steve Jobs on his death-bed would agree to trade 100% of his wealth for a year of good health.

How can one individual oversee a lot of the investment and operational decisions simutaneously? It will be very daunting, difficult and stressful, thus resulting in poor health :-(
