Yup, and he thought there was a drug problem before... Hmmmm....

1) "But I do think it's a risky move." I agree, and think it is more than risky. I would say he has made a serious mistake. Trump's tariffs now seem to be creating an alliance between China, Russia and India. I wonder how many countries may join this reaction to US tariffs. Some may say he has overplayed his hand. 2) "Who the fuck cares - I sure don't". Well Cubs, it seems that the guy in charge of your economy obviously has no grasp of the simple concept of percentages. That's fine, but then he uses percentages in the random tariffs he slaps on various items and countries. It just might indicate to some that he doesn't know what he is doing.

On behalf of some of us lesser intelligent people on this board who don't seem able to comprehend Mr. Trump's game plans, could any of his supporters explain some of his recent moves. Here are two. 1) India has the world's fastest growing major economy. India's border with China is thousands of kilometers long. Why would the US want to start some sort of trade war with India and drive India into supporting China?. 2) Trump has recently stated that he is going to cut drug prices "not by 40% or 50%, but by 1400% or 1500%". Could one of his supporters explain how he might achieve this?

I don't think you need to "...dumb it down for the TDS guys..." or anyone else, because I don't believe this is the definition of malicious prosecution. It might be an example, and I am not even sure of that. However, laws differ between jurisdictions. Essentially: "Malicious prosecution is the filing of a lawsuit for an improper purpose, and without grounds or probable cause". It has nothing to do with "... find the man/woman first, and then go find the crime."
-
This is rich coming from someone who jumps in to defend Trump whenever anyone dares criticize him. Your posts supporting the man must number in the thousands. You may have your issues with his prosecution, but the fact of the matter is that was found guilty by the justice system and if that decision was wrong, than we will await the appeal. Until then he is guilty of fraud. Among other things. Your support of Trump seems all encompassing. You defend him against every criticism and if you have ever disagreed with him or have found his actions objectionable, I must have missed those posts. Donald Trump is not beyond reproach.

"I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?" Donald J. Trump Some of the replies here illustrate the truth of this. In the eyes of some, this man can do no wrong.

" the absurdity of the lawsuit brought against him" As one involved with the credit industry for much of my life, I would strongly disagree. What Trump did simply put, was crooked - and the courts agree. Loans and interest charges are based on risk and the security provided for those loans. Trump lied and grossly exaggerated the value of the security he was providing for those loans. And he guaranteed in writing that this false information was correct and signed documents to that effect. That is pretty well the definition of fraud. In turn those falsifications got him a lower interest rate then should have been charged resulting in the lenders not being adequately for the risk they took. That is fraud and the courts agreed. There has to be some responsibility when one knowingly signs documents that are false. Now, if the punishment suits the crime - well that is a different question. But before jumping to his defense, remember, this is a person who stiffed creditors six times through bankruptcies.

The cult paying homage to their leader ........................ Reminds one of the old clips of the Nazis meeting with Hitler and kissing up to him.

Not quite ready to take a hike Cubs. Please read closely........................... "In denying Mr. Trump’s bid to throw out the case, the court kept in place the ruling that he had committed fraud, an ignominious distinction for a sitting American president." Trump is still a convicted fraudster. That is not my opinion, I am not calling him names, it is simply a fact. The only change was in the amount that was awarded - AND THAT - I believe, is being appealed. So before you celebrate ................ A) Trump remains legally guilty of fraud. B) The reduction in the fine awarded is under appeal.
-
Cubs, what on earth are you talking about? No charges were dropped. There was no 'not guilty' verdict. Trump was found guilty of fraud and still is. Period. He will continue to be so unless and until that judgment is overturned on an appeal. What the man did was to lie and exaggerate the value of his holdings. In turn this allowed him to fraudulently get a better interest rate on his loans. In turn that illegitimately saved him a substantial amount of money and cost his lenders. That is a fraud on his creditors. He is still a convicted fraudster. The only change at this point is that - and on a split decision - the court felt that the fine was excessive and reduced it to zero. However, I believe that this decision is being appealed so he could still face a substantial fine. So you are getting way ahead of yourself. Calm down dude.

Unfortunate there isn't a viable third party.

Fair enough. Agree that some minor measures have little impact by themselves, but every little bit helps and you have to start somewhere. Not sure what part of the States you are in, but up here in "the Frozen North" (Atlantic Canada), when it is very cold with no wind, and a lot of cars and trucks are sitting the air can get pretty fumey. It is the people who think climate change is a hoax that get under my skin. The causes and remedies may be open to question, but the fact that we are seeing significant evidence of changes is undeniable.
-
That was done. You are simply trying to provoke an argument based on a false premise.
-
Well I am not going to get into an extended debate about air pollution caused by excessive idling and the harmful effects it produces. However, I would not suggest trying to disprove this while sitting in your car, in your garage with the engine running.
-
Wrong about what? "Many cities, particularly in Canada and some US states, have anti-idling bylaws limiting how long a vehicle can be left running when not in motion, with common limits of one to five minutes, though some areas are stricter or focus on specific vehicle types or durations. Examples of cities with these regulations include Toronto, Vancouver, Kelowna, and Edmonton in Canada, and some municipalities in states like Wyoming and Colorado in the US" "Cities in Asia where idling is restricted include Hong Kong, Tokyo (Japan), and Singapore, with other cities like Manila, Seoul, and Taipei also having anti-idling measures in place." "(England, Scotland, Wales), have implemented regulations and fines for unnecessary vehicle idling."
-
Would you like to expand on that? Or were you were talking about the MAGA crowd. "...defense of retard driven government involvement in how many seconds you are permitted to let lapse while operating your own property" .... ever heard of climate change? This type of legislation is not uncommon in northern areas. I have two vehicles, both shut the engines off (annoyingly) after 5 seconds of idling for the same reason. "... it’s NBD someone’s career is impaired with the a $94k “fine” over not sharing the same views of male and female as a few fringers…." Fine, just don't pretend that the Canadian Government had anything to do with that, because anyone who actually read the article would have seen that.

As usual some people will believe anything. That had nothing to do with the Canadian government, it was a voluntary professional organization to which she belonged that fined her. Anyway not worth trying to confuse you with facts. Read the article.
-
Really? How many times have I said on this board that Justin Trudeau and his government were idiots? Never been fined nor been in jail yet. Stop reciting garbage. Your statement is 100% ridiculous.
-
So....? "This by-law is in place to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, and it sets limits for how long a vehicle can be left running without moving." Having 5-10,000 cars idling first thing in the morning for an excessive period of time does not make for great air quality. Also, it makes no difference if you are in the car or not.

One sometimes thinks of the United States AS an asylum.

Ya just cant make this stuff up. A certain guy who had bone spurs is now referring to himself as a "war hero". Disgusting! https://www.cnn.com/2025/08/20/us/video/trump-refers-as-war-hero-adam-kinzinger-vrtc That man is a complete embarrassment.
-
Pretty sad that a few particular MAGA posters never, ever have the balls to admit it when they caught posting BS. They simply ignore the fact they were just proven wrong. As the saying goes,'ignorance is bliss'. Most of us know who they are and give little credibility to their posts on any topic.
-
I just had a thought. I don't recollect one single MAGA supporter on this board expressing disgust or even concern at the thought of Trump and his buddies making moves to take over Greenland or Canada. Actually given the Inuit population of both Canada and Greenland, it would seem the two countries have a lot more in common than with the U.S.
-
At least you guys have a good portion of ocean separating you, while we share a 5,500 mile border that Trump refers to as "the Canada-U.S. border is an "artificially drawn line." .
