  4. member this guy. pretty impressive for janitor and gas attendant https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2015/02/12/after-life-of-frugality-vermont-janitor-bestows-6-million-to-local-hospital-library see another remembers him and also the irs lady who bequeathed I believe $28M to a woman's college. she tracked what well off people did on their returns. could not find any thing on her.
  5. on second page of this PRIC chairman report is what I mentioned about CET wishing to eventually exit its PRIC position. also CET annual out and although no buffett is a nice read https://www.plymouthrock.com/public/Plymouthrock/StaticFiles/PDF/rpt2013.pdf
  6. great stuff. thanks for sharing. reminds a little of story with Lorenzo’s Oil.
  7. williams406, believe CET sold 20% or so back to PROC few years ago and believe they/CET or PROC stated would like to sell back more or all ( believe wilmot on PROC board). believe PROC would like to buy back , but they also have their eye on SAFT( see their portfolio https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1496228/000156761918005956/xslForm13F_X01/form13fInfoTable.xml ) which is big in same state(MASS) that PROC started in. as Spekulatius stated they have a lot of deferred taxes therefore that is why i like it in my retirement plans. Also how does on reply to another with the pretty little bold print. know I am looking a little obtuse here.
  8. own fair amount in retirement plans. like it. plymouth rock stake may eventually be sold. plymouth kind of acts as buffer to NAV % as not publicly listed, but it valued pretty conservatively. wilmot and his trusts own I think around 80%.
  9. I too was intrigued by Berry Global as have not heard of it before. It certainly looks like a stable, high turn-over business that could generate stable cash flow. wonder if those more knowledgeable than I saw the wsj column today https://www.wsj.com/articles/plastic-is-big-foods-next-headache-11545996593 and how or if that may affect their business? Are they strong in the biodegradable department? and will this push more companies to say aluminum cans? would appreciate insights.
  10. on reading this i was reminded of buffett's tongue in cheek joke that upon dying he just hoped that BRK did not jump up too high on the news.
  11. read article recently saying the long/short thesis of greenlight very difficult to achieve as so hard to short stocks --- may be right long- term but the timing is so difficult. they thought a long/ cash type fund may be better suited for most of his picks.
