  1. You believe this will be like LITE where price goes against the chart or price follows the signal? Not seeking investment advice just trying to understand technical analysis (not something I do for investing but learning)
  2. Thanks for the updates
  3. Yes Clements has been a tremendous resource for my own learning on this. I am transitioning by adding new capital to index as I’m in a similar boat. I have young ones (teenagers) and do talk to them about stocks and businesses but that takes time. To UK’s point, in the USA Bellpoint (OZ) is publicly traded and a way to manage (defer) capital gains. There was an investment thread on it here but not active. However at some point can’t let the tax wag the dog. Lastly if holdings are good enough that may be ok to pass on and have them not do anything with those.
  4. Thanks @gfp . Makes a comment suggesting Nvidia is not done yet and kids to pursue liberal arts (soft skills) with business savvy. Seems like a take which is consistent in tech industry and may explain the market discounting non ai companies. Physical ai should be the next place to focus but no way to action it. Maybe hold the noses and allocate a bit to mag7.
  5. You could also save the EOBs (explanation of benefits) which your insurance company should be able to provide. EOBs could be used instead of receipts as long as there is the amount you paid listed.
  6. The below is pretty powerful and something (with revisions) to consider telling the children whom we leave an inheritance. "So thank you, Uncle Sam. Someday your nieces and nephews at Berkshire hope to send you even larger payments than we did in 2024. Spend it wisely. Take care of the many who, for no fault of their own, get the short straws in life. They deserve better. And never forget that we need you to maintain a stable currency and that result requires both wisdom and vigilance on your part."
  7. Interesting conversation but to get back on track. Bought (top ticked) 3 shares of FRFHF yesterday. This was to show kids and get them started. Been holding fairfax for a while and big thank you to Viking.
  8. No Fairfax but Aecon and Terravest for the followers here. https://www.spglobal.com/spdji/en/documents/indexnews/announcements/20241206-1475785/1475785_2024-12-06compositereview-pr.pdf 1475785_2024-12-06compositereview-pr.pdf
  9. @hasilp89 - water, formula, wipes, diapers, diaper rash cream, booster seat, changing pads, insect repellent and a light stroller. We would just take Costco/kirkland package so we didn't run out (water is easily available). Most if not all of these are available in India but in some places not that easily. Strollers are a pain to navigate as space is limited. Our toddlers had a blast as first time with livestock and the sheer number of people. As Jaygo, mentioned pack some meds and a thermometer. December is cooler but never know. I grew up in Mumbai so am partial to it but Agra, Delhi and Rajasthan should keep you all busy. Depending on where you are in gujarat, do go to a resataurant where they serve gujarati thalis (brazilian bbq style). Mumbai has those places as well. Food may be spicy even if you say no spice esp. in Rajasthan. Have fun.
  10. @longterminvestor - thank you for all of the information you have shared. 1) game within a game - you mention clients perhaps controlling for exposure (reducing trucks, employees etc.). If the premium is paid annually, is this something during renewal/quoting cycle to minimize next year's costs? 2) your comment re upcoming months - is this from a broker perspective where rate goes down and maybe exposure too? If so, brokers should come down in price but consolidation may keep a floor on prices of brokerages? It seems that the bigger and proven ones are to stick with for investment purposes.
  11. Is this in terms of current price of FFH or the mechanics of the TRS? Thanks for the running commentary
  12. This is correct and funny. Gfp thanks for the posts and not just this one.
  13. @dealraker - you are not invisible to some of us. Your long term perspective is well needed and also appreciated. Completely agree it is about looking in the mirror and answering the question for oneself. Doesn't matter what others will state. There are too many calories being burned on this short report. The motivations for MW are different than for long term business owners. Wish the stock had gone lower frankly but oh well.
