There are lots of stocks finally getting to more reasonable levels. When you look at the Magnificent 7...compared to how dominant they are and how much cash flow they throw off, they are not expensive...especially GOOGL. I have added to my GOOGL holdings as it has dropped. I've also been adding to retailers...they are just getting crushed...some should be, but some are getting thrown in with the bathwater. Cheers!

Generally, it's when any existing shareholder wants to sell some of their stake...often for some liquidity. Francis does not usually raise any money...the company tends to generate more cash flow than he can even put to work presently. Perhaps one day, if he goes public it will be widely accessible, but that might me some time away. It really is his personal wealth vehicle and he had invited a handful of friends/associates to invest in the beginning. Like over 95% of the money was his own. So if he's smart, he will keep it private and away from the unnecessary regulations and requirements of a public company. And Francis is very smart! I would imagine the only reason he might even consider going public is for his estate and heirs. It would be easier to sell small amounts of a public company for estate planning, rather than chunks or all of the private company. Cheers!

But this is partly my concern after Buffett is gone. Who at Berkshire would have pulled the trigger on a $150B+ sale of Apple like he did? Maybe Ajit Jain. I can't see Greg Abel doing something like that...or Ted and Todd. Berkshire is now ready to deploy all that cash, and probably at the perfect time once again! I met these two lesbian doctors from Texas on a tour bus when me, my cousin and my cousin-in-law were there for a sports weekend last year. They had talked about how when the pandemic hit and their practices were closed, they were working intensive care at the local hospitals putting in 16 hour shifts. There's a few movies that I can watch over and over. If they are on, I'll watch. Godfather 1 & 2, Goodfellas, Shawshank Redemption, A Fist Full of Dollars, A Few Dollars More, Heat, etc. The film I consider the best movie on baseball (other than Field of Dreams) and one I can watch over and over (watching it right now) is Moneyball.
